Why does he deserve benefit of the doubt?  It's well beyond doubt. I don't have to have met him, I saw his uniform and read about a fellow Marine's encounter with him. That's more than enough proof to me.

Apparently the man has dementia. Pretty fugged up that so many people have been trashing someone's grandfather.

Wow, that's terrible. You can tell a lot about a person by what they want to be true. Good,on Deangelo for giving the guy the seat and saying he'd do it again. At least everybody isn't a cynical asshole trying to blow up some old man on the internet.

Just saw a picture of this today, and I'm not resting through all of this to see if it's mentioned, but that man is not a Marine. Unless he has Alzheimer's or something.

Half of his appearance is wrong, not to mention seeing an E-9 Marine in full blues in public is about as likely as seeing a pink unicorn.

Got no issue eating crow. I was wrong and the man deserves an apology.

I did not consider someone having dementia or Alzheimer's traveling.

There is a reason so many questioned him, because the uniform was shockingly wrong. Unfortunately there have been so many fakers out there that actual veterans are being questioned. I feel bad for it.

Well that's a good step. I don't know, maybe we as panther fans could raise some money for veterans or Alzheimer's to put a positive spin on this.
