I don't hope he fails.  I hope he quits making dumb decisions.  Just doesn't seem to be trending that way.  If the guy is quick to punch a high school kid imagine how quick he's going to be to beat his wife one day.  

 

It's the fact that he's still linked to those people who got him in trouble to begin with that's the problem.

 

If we wanted whats best for this kid.....we'd trade him to somewhere on the west coast.

Why is it "disgusting" for a fan of the Charlotte Hornets to hope that Gerald Henderson succeeds?  He has been nothing but a class act for the organization, he plays hard, he doesn't get in any sort of trouble, and he's awesome in the community.  Also, he absolutely LOVES being in Charlotte.  Your statement is absolutely ludacris.

 

I don't think anyone here truly wants PJ to "fail" as you put it.  I think anybody & everybody who is a REAL fan of the Hornets hopes that our 26th pick comes in and produces right away, helps us win games, and has a long, successful career in Charlotte.  I think some people here (myself included) were initially against the pick due to his criminal history and low moral character in the past. I was willing to give PJ a pass on it all when he seemed so heartfelt in his press conference about learning from his mistakes and starting over, clean.  But now, almost immediately, PJ gets charged with assault & battery on a 17 year old.  Now it just makes it harder to believe anything he says.

 

I'm hoping PJ TRULY learns from his numerous stupid decisions (let's not call them mistakes... they were decisions he made) and grows into a productive member of the society (much less the NBA) because like it or not, he is a Charlotte Hornet, and I want him to succeed.

 

I just don't know where all the Gerald Henderson hate is coming from.  You Carolina & Duke fans take this WAY too seriously, and 90% of you didn't ever pay a dime of tuition to either institution.  Re-evaluate your lives, please.
