So for two of those backs he didn't play, AP got 77 yards and no TD's, and Turner got all of 54 yards and no TD's.

I could be wrong, but IIRC the Cats' run D didn't really start to go downhill until the Oak or Det. game. But Kemo was still there then of course.

Where were you guys after Meeks was hired? Everyone, including Fox and Meeks, said not to expect much to change.

provide a link to this "common knowledge"...

(sorry, I'm tired of talking about facts that don't exist)

In almost every article from players.. There is new poo they are learning, a total focus on fundamentals and new ways of practicing them, and even a minor switch in scheme... So I have to ask you ...

:iagree:

the interweb is at your hands. back up the statement with some proof.

i don't expect things to be overwhelmingly different, but there will be differences. TC updates are the proof of that.

interpretations of apples to some, are read as oranges by others..

No, the scheme isn't going to change to a 3-4, there won't be any drastic changes. I thought this was obvious... But things won't be ran the same as Trgo.. Which I also thought was obvious..

I guess all the interviews with players saying they are learning a new defense is irrelevant..

Especially since Meeks has vowed to basically run things like Turdovac did?

No where in that article does the word "vow" come up, that's a pretty strong word meaning the exact same philosophy, scheme, and lack of focus on fundamentals would still be here, without any changes at all..

Most of that article is talking about the players... Which means... Meeks doesn't need to change the players that Trgo had, because they are all qualified to do what he wants them to do...

Sorry, disagree whole heartily with your statement... like I said, I'm not sure how people interpret what they read and come up with these things.. Meeks hasn't said anything close to that..

These three are good talents. Each of them became available for a reason, and all of them can be shaky. Gonzalez is the only one that consistently produces and isn't a big pain in the butt - and he's old.

The Saints, Falcons, and Bucs paid way too much for what they got. They can have a few more "stars" if it means costing them this much.

Considering he will be here long term it's dumb to grade a trade on one year. The main problem with Shockey seemed to be his problem with picking up and fitting into the offense, with a full offseason in the books he looks a lot more comfortable.

his production has decreased the last 3 years... maybe hes just not gonna be the player he once was... but keep clinging to that raft

Fixed

Edit: and then of course you edit the damn post :P

have to choose the point I'm trying to get across VERY carefully, or else the topic then runs in another direction to avoid backing up the original point...

Not saying SMF does that, but after so many of these discussions, it's just standard practice.. lol

I pretty much agree with this assessment...
