High stress job problem

I guessed that because of the high turn over rate and he used the term facility.

Not sure what the pay is like in the states for CO's but in Canada you can make a pretty decent living doing it.

and you can say high turnover again, found out last night that one of co-workers is about to quit, he's been here 7 months, he's putting in his two week notice next week and I'll be on my 4th work partner in the last 12 months. 

 

first one quit 2 months in, second lasted about 8 months, and the current guy has been on shift with me for 2 months, so yeah they'll give me someone else next week and that will be mr. number 4.

I didn't really want to say that much about what I do on here because heaven forbid with some of the stuff I've said on here if anyone ever connected the dots, I'd probably be fired the next day. ;-P

But such a high turnover rate here in Canada for that as well, always advertising. I have a couple buddies that love doing it and one that didnt last 3 months. It's definitely not for everyone. I use to work with a guy who worked at a federal jail and said the inmates were fine but it was all the politics between management and co workers that led to him quitting.

Corrections is my back up if I can't hack this, but at the youth center. The pay is practically the same and it's a better atmosphere. Not sure what its like for you with adult vs youth facilities in the states as far as pay goes. Unfortuently I'm at the youth center alot more than I should be due to my job, and quite frankly my house is somewhat of a youth center. I foster the kids that come out of jail, so I deal with alot of the same stuff as officer's at the youth center do but at my home. Stuff can get pretty hectic sometimes. But like I said, I love what I do. Some of the kids I get are pretty awesome, and i love trying to help them out and work with them. Some however, just looking for trouble and they don't give a fvck. Then eventually, they get sent to you lol!

Doesnt sound like its what you see on tv.... Seemed like they had shifts on Orange ITNB, not 24/7

We passed a federal prison on 521 this weekend. Talk about out in the middle of freaking nowhere! Miles and miles of land it seemed. Good luck not dying even if you do escape
