Josh Gordon arrested again.....

still doesn't prove Lewis killed anybody.

and as for the other...well another story with alcohol... can't understand why fans don't like players drinking and driving.

It doesn't have to prove anything, the evidence and events speak for themselves.  You can draw whatever conclusions you want to, the fact of the matter is if it had involved any other person they'd be in prison right now.

Well the main problem is you're thinking from the overly pristine "goody too shoes" perspective that Goodell has imposed on the league, not that I disagree with some of it I just think it's overly intensified because of who they are.  What someone does behind closed doors that doesn't harm anyone else, is their own business in my opinion.

Why he chooses to be a chronic user of marijuana I have no clue, but if it's for a legitimate medical reason then let him choose to do so.  The guy tokes up and then goes on to have 1600 yards receiving, if anything that's a million times better than those who take roids and HGH and come back to only get suspend 4 games lol performance enhancing drugs.  Hell and maybe like Ricky Williams, his use of marijuana is for religious purposes that he truly holds...does that mean the NFL gets to impose on his constitutional rights ?

Long story short, this guy isn't a big giant problem child who doesn't deserve to play, he's simply a victim of an over zealous world in which others love to judge those who's life style they don't agree with way before they look at their own convictions and mistakes.

On a side note I do agree that he was dumb in not preparing to pass the test, he's rich and had enough money to buy the resources I'm sure to keep him from failing.

DWI doesn't exactly qualify as "what someone does behind closed doors that doesn't harm anyone else".

And again, the question of whether or not he should be allowed to light up or whatever has no relevance whatsoever; zero, zilch, nada.

You want to play in the NFL?  You follow the established rules.  I don't really give a s--t if you agree with them or not.  You still have to follow them if you don't want to suffer the consequences.

You're being paid millions of dollars to play a game.  People that do jobs which actually mean something like teachers, police officers, firemen, etc make considerably less than a football player makes.  As such, you can be set for life and have enough to provide for your family's future in a matter of just a few years.

A great start on your future, or possibly even your whole life taken care of.  Plus fame and loads of perks, all for just a few years of work.  Heck, once your career's done, you can do pretty much anything you want.

And all you have to do...is for those few years...stay...away...from...trouble.

Not dedicate your life to missions work.  Not flagellate yourself when you have a bad thought.  Not live a monastic lifestyle.

Just don't do drugs and stay out of trouble.

That doesn't take a rocket scientist - or a choir boy - to understand, or even to achieve.

It just takes somebody smarter than Josh Gordon.

Obviously I know what DWI qualifies as, what I said earlier was that he blew a .09 while not injuring anyone else or causing any property damage.  therefore the people saying he should be banned for life or be cut, are just being the normal judgmental extremest of society.  That punishment wouldn't fit the crime, as I've stated there have been multiple players with DUI manslaughter charges who have continued their playing career, etc. People are naturally over dramatic when it comes to a celebrity.

And the disparity between an NFL player salary and a teacher, etc or other regular folks aren't the NFL players fault, he as well as anyone other human being is subject able to making mistakes etc. He doesn't control the economy or capitalism....which rewards people's interest, not exactly societies advancement.

And of course the question of whether someone can use a prescribed medicine is completely valid, especially in a sport notorious for brain injuries and PTSD, if you don't bring those questions forward then the rules don't adjust, things stay the same, there's no advancement.  Just a bunch of guys getting knocked in the brain and living shortened lifes and not being able to seek alternative treatment based on someone Else's moral standards.

The NFL isn't some perfect system, the rules are more so for show rather than actually caring about people's wellness.  My point has already been made several posts ago.

Anytime this topic comes up, you can always guarantee at least one person running with the whole 'rules not fair' argument, even though it's been demonstrated repeatedly that the argument has no validity at all.

If you become a member of a privileged group, there are always going to be rules to follow.  And it won't matter if they're fair, or perfect, or even if you agree with them.  You'll follow them, or you'll lose your privileges.  It's that simple.  And frankly, given the amount of money involved, if the NFL had a rule requiring me to wear my underwear backwards, I'd do it, as would pretty much everyone here,

The thing with Gordon is he had a choice to make: temporary pleasure/enjoyment/convenience vs long term benefit.  For anyone with even a halfway mature and intelligent outlook on life, the long term benefit is the obvious choice.

But a guy like Gordon gets where he is because he's continually making the bad decision, choosing what's fleeting over what's lasting.  And it doesn't matter how many different ways you spin it or who else you try to blame.  Reality is that's nobody's fault but his own.

And let's be clear: Gordon didn't get to this point by one bad choice.  Rather a series of them, culminating in the choice to use drugs at a time when he was being tested ten times a month and one strike away from losing a year's salary.  Even in those circumstances, he chose the temporary high.  A year's salary for a quick high...not exactly good judgement.

And then to top that, with a year's suspension hanging over his head, he chose to get in a car and drive knowing he'd been drinking.

Defend that all you want, but the reality is the man is either so addicted he needs major help or he's just too stupid to get it.  That doesn't get him blackballed from society, but it does cost him his million dollar a year job.  Fair or not, that's how it works, and he knew it.

This is no one's fault but his.

Y'all are pure comedy, what has PJ done so fair that warrants this ill will and calling him a thug scum lowlife.

In truth I know nada about PJ. I'm and Panther/football fan not a UNC BB fan. But just yesterday he was talked about on the local news for allegedly punching a high school kid at some BB game. If it was an accident that happened during the game I imagine like any decent human he'd apologize to the kid.

I hope the Hornets haven't made a massive mistake making that trade.
