Josh Gordon arrested again.....

More like, you should realize that your judgments are ignorance-based. Thanks for yet again reaffirming what I said to begin with.

Anyway.

You don't know what you don't know, and you can't predict the future, which is why sometimes you take a chance on "talented" guys who still need to mature (if you can do it for a reasonable price), because 1) they could mature, and 2) most people are hiding things that could've gotten them arrested at some point.

Plenty of people around this country got DWIs on the 4th. Gordon is a moron, but a holiday DWI and smoking marijuana aren't the biggest of deals to me, and those types of incidents don't usually end up being "gateway crimes" to bigger ones.

Some organization is going to say, "we are run more competently than the Browns, we can handle him better," and take a risk on him. And they won't break the bank doing it either.

You said "guys like Josh Gordon". There aren't a whole lot of guys "like" Gordon talent-wise. If this was Josh Norman, he'd have been gone after the first offense.

Driving drunk is a "gateway crime" to killing yourself or somebody else. But it's a holiday, so no big deal I guess.

Fug bad press and public opinion if the guy can help us win football games I want him on our team.

Players who are suspended indefinitely, as Gordon is probably about to be, don't really help you win games.

And if you wanna suggest we hold his rights for however many years it takes for him to get hold of himself (which, by the way, might never happen) that'd be pretty useless.

Hello, Mr. Predictable.

Like I said, plenty of people get DWI's on July 4th. I wouldn't expect any less from a knucklehead, so I'm not surprised or outraged.

I honestly think it's kinda obscene the way a lot of people are calling him "done" and saying he should be banned for life, or cut, etc.

He's a relatively young guy and has made some mistakes, that being said his mistakes are using marijuana and driving impaired..... from what I heard/read he blew a .09 a freaking tenth of a point above the legal limit.  Lets be honest here, that takes the average person like 2 beers, if everyone who drove impaired was arrested our jails would be even more over crowded, and if we punished everyone by losing their job then the unemployment rate would sky rocket and the economy crash.

The NFL has had players who've KILLED PEOPLE and have come back and played.    His mistakes have been magnified by the slow offseason and the fact that brett farve stayed retired...

Some of these replies act like we're not employing a guy who allegedly beat his girlfriend, threaten her life, and threw her on top of a pile of machine guns...... lol

He's just using ye old act like a dumbass to get cut technique to get off of the browns. Probably already has a contract written up with the patriots

You got the 'dumbass' part right.

The Browns are highly unlikely to cut him unless the League suspends him, and maybe not even then.  If (likely when) the League does suspend him indefinitely, it doesn't matter who he "already has a contract witten up with".  He's not playing anywhere.

This kind of thing, the number of times Gordon has done it, doesn't get you out of Cleveland.  It gets you out of the NFL.

He's about to be suspended for a very long time.  When was the last time you saw an NFL team sign or trade for a player that wasn't going to be available to them for about two years or so.

And let's say you do bring in a guy like Gordon.  Say he's doing well and he's a big part of your offense.  You're headed to the playoffs and everything is clicking and...oh, I wonder who's calling.  Oh, it's the League Office with a message that the guy you've been counting on to help you win games just did something stupid...again.  Now you're gonna have to go into that playoff run without him.

Teams don't want that.  Heck, even other players don't like the idea of depending on a guy who's known to choose drugs or drink over them.

He did this knowing he was facing a year's suspension.  You really think someone telling him "now this is really your last chance" is gonna keep him out of trouble?  If so, then you pay him a million dollars and rely on him to be responsible and do a job for ya, because the Panthers won't.
