Josh Gordon arrested again.....

"Fanbase" aside, he was already facing a year long suspension, and even with that over his head he still went and got himself arrested.

That'll suspension will be upgraded to 'indefinite' now, and he'll have to keep his nose clean to be reinstated.  Given that he couldn't even do that when he was facing an entire year of lost salary, I'd say that's...duobtful.

Seeing as he might not see the field again until more than a year from now - and quite possibly, never - you'd have to be a special kind of stupid to give up anything for him now.

Sign him if Cleveland cuts him?  Why?  He's not suiting up anytime soon (again, if ever) so what's the point?  To get a jump on the free agent market of 2016?  Oh yeah, right

Sign him "if" Cleveland cuts him when he's able to play again...if he's available.

Under the scenario I stated from the beginning, you weren't "giving up" anything.

It makes plenty of sense when you understand that it's a shot at the fanbase.

no it doesn't, you are just trying to bring some political BS into it to support a weak ass argument. The Panther fan base...the realistic one anyway, knows JR would never sign this guy. So you go into some red vs blue to look like you know what you are talking about, only proving you don't.

Nah, we should throw away a roster spot for two years because Josh Gordon had a sweet year in fantasy.

How bout, I'd sign him "if"  he wasn't a total moron who can't stay out of trouble to save his life.

However, since all evidence points to that being exactly what he is, I'll pass.

Roster spot?  Heck, we should be on the phone right now offering Cleveland our next two first rounders!

(you laugh, but I'd be willing to bet there are one or two on here who'd make the deal)

Haha, Don't forget that we also need to lock him down with a massive long term deal. You don't let him get away.

How about that's what I said about you in the original post that you replied to? I already know you probably feel that way so what's the point of you telling me what I already knew about you?

Again, why are you telling me something that I just said myself?

I. Just. Said. The Panthers and Hornets, as organizations, behave more like their fan bases think, than Jerry Jones, who doesn't mind rolling the dice on a knucklehead. Of course Richardson would want to stay away, just like you would.

So congratulations on your temporary testosterone increase, gained from thinking you made a good point when all you did show me that you think exactly like I told you that you do. Too bad I just took it away from you.

Because conservative, "red state" morons want to stay away from a "bad seed" instead of taking a chance once in a while. The Panthers should be all over this guy if Cleveland cuts him, offer him small dollars with a chance to make more down the line while convincing him that this is probably his last chance to prove that he belongs in the league.

Massachusetts

Washington

California

Where are the red states? Oh, that's right. Sitting back waiting to b*tch about something one of those 3 states did.

Want to know why we have a "conservative" approach to players with a troubled past? *Hint* it doesn't have anything to do with politics.

I ran this sentence through Google translate.  It came back with this:

WTF?

silly, you are saying the organization behave like the fan base and I'm am saying the fan base knows how the organization operates.

Not really.

What kind of "troubled past" did Rae Carruth have before the one that sent him to prison? That's the more important question.

The reason that question matters is no player has to have a "troubled past" to end up shaming your organization that one time they decide to do something stupid or criminal, just like those who shoot up a school or a post office don't have to have ever done anything before that would lead you to believe they would now.

That's a fact. What good is a "background" check if the guy buying the gun has never killed anyone and has just now decided that he wants to?

But you could have someone who got out of prison who wants a gun for protection because he knows he's a wanted man, but he can't get one for a good reason while the disgruntled student who wants to shoot up his school is given one because his record checks out.

In other words, plenty of other NFL players who aren't always in the news will likely do a lot more violent things and shame the league before Josh Gordon does, so if he could be had for virtually nothing when he can be, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I would. Whether "I would" has zero to do with whether Richardson ever will.

This board isn't the Panthers' front office.
