Gordon Hayward to visit Hornets next week.

It really doesn't matter what positional title you put on them. When they are on the court together. Hayward will get offensive plays ran for him and MkG will guard the best offensive wing on the other team. With them 2 together the SG and SF positions will be interchangeable.

So your whole thing about who can and can't play a position is irrelevant.

this.

the whole sg/sf thing is just retarded.

What's retarded is thinking it's retarded.

Sincerely,

How come Hayward performed better at SF than SG if it's "irrelevant"?

When you run an offense, 2 & 3 aren't always doing the exact same thing in the offense, so of course it matters some

Like I said his rookie contract.

Like I said, it would make zero sense for them to wait until the end of his rookie contract to see if he's going to develop a reliable jump shot.

They, like most teams would do, would try to get something for him before then while some other organizations out there might be thinking like you are.

Just from the eye test/make me get out of my seat test I want lance over gordon.

Im not saying this WILL happen but I think Lance has a better chance at helping the hornets become top dogs in the east as opposed to the perpetual underdog status. Sure maybe Gordon would net us more wins next season but I think Lance would go a long way for this franchise and could be a major, if not the major, piece going forward.

It is time we take a chance, Al was the beginning but if we truly want to make a legit run we need to make a statement. (Not to mention lance would probably be cheaper lol).

Im not some previous Lance fan either and honestly I don't know why I even feel so strongly about this, I'm just ready for the Hornets to make a polarizing move, and shift the mindset from beta to alpha in the east. I think we have a better chance with Lance and im ok with that risk.

Sorry for the rant, I blame the beer. But I feel the same sober.

In Cho We Trust.

He is our player so we could still get something from him after this seseason or the next. He will be a RFA and a sign and trade deal can still happen.

What games or years did he play SG and SF? What type of offense did they run? What was their offensive options? etc

When you run an offense, you run it to the personnel you have. ie If your SG and SF can not shoot you will not be running deep screens or set 3pt plays.

There is no set in stone rule saying SGs do x and SFs do y.

The only thing of relevance is defensive matchups as SFs are usually a good 3 inches taller than SGs.

Hayward is 6'8 and moves well so he can guard both SG and SF.

Consequently, SGs would have a hard time guarding Hayward with the size difference.

What about the other Gordon as a plan B if Lance or Gordon Hayward dont work out. Eric Gordon. I stuck with being a Hornet fan with the move to New Orleans and can say when he's healthy the guy is a baller. Thats just the problem is he's often injured but at 26 I feel like he could be worth the risk. He wants to be a teams leading scorer and has the ability. New Orleans has to clear room to make the Asik deal really work and They already have Evans who is more suited for the 2 then 3. We give them Henderson and take a gamble. Gordon is set to make $15 next year so we'd still have some room to add another quality player or two aswell.  If at 26 Gordon can stay healthy he has a real chance to turn his NBA career around. He's also a scrappy defender and hard nose player.

I wanna see what we got in PJ before we go committing alot of money to the SG spot.

I think we has the potential to be really good.

I agree with you here about his potential to be really good. However we need a proven talent and let PJ come off the bench a little and not rush him. We need to take time to see how he handles money and freedom as well. If everything goes well for a few years, then he can be a real impact talent

Your first four lines are so stupid I'm just going to ignore them and the nerve behind them. Make sure those are the types of questions that you ask everyone from now on. "In what specific games did Kemba show you that he could do X, Y and Z? What offense was he running when he did it? What was MKG supposed to be doing in that set?"

Kiss everyone's arse if that's what it takes for you.

Smaller SGs don't really have as tough a time defending Hayward as he does them, because despite being 6'8, they can still stay in front of him, and he doesn't have excellent reach, so they can still get their shots off on him if they don't get by him and they can get up in his on defense.

Do you now need the names of those "smaller SGs" to believe it? Well then don't believe it, no one cares if you do.

Put Hayward at the 3 if he's here and either move MKG to the 2 or to the bench. He's better at the 3 than the 2. That'll be your best option with the two of them in the lineup. I personally haven't seen much of MKG as a Tony Allen kind of SG, so I'd like to see what he could do in that role.

If Rose is healthy and I emphasize IF then the Bulls will be way better. The Pacers will still be good with or without Lance. At this point I don't see us getting any quality FA's. I'm also not expecting significant contributions from our rookies other than minutes played THIS season. With that said and as weak as the East is, Charlotte could still be a top 3 seed lol. Hopefully I'll be eating crow about the Free Agency.

Lmao

You make a claim and when called out to back it up you cant. Can you at the very least provide which games did GH play SG and which ones he played SF? Since you seem to know about how well he did in them.

If I say Kemba played poorly as x position I would need to be able to back up that claim with something.

GH can simply shoot over 99% of SG's. Doesnt even need to go around them.
