Curious..how many huddlers also read other teams forums..

I not only read other boards, but post on other boards every day. I find conversation more fun when everyone doesn't agree with you. It makes you look at things more objectively, instead of just spouting a bunch of garbage and having people agree with you just because they're a fan of the same team.

I'm kind of a glutton for punishment as well.

I do if we are picking up a player from their team or vice versa

I do that too, but I'm always a little leary.

You've always got the "he left us so he sucks" crowd when someone bolts, so ya gotta wade through that.  On the flipside, you can't make the opposite mistake of just assuming everyone who knocks him is butthurt.

It can be a good resource, but ya gotta use some discernment..

I enjoy reading other boards for different opinions on controversial subjects. I like seeing what other boards say about the Panthers. I love reading Jacksonville's board because they're all decently coherent from losing for so many years, they're true fans. I like seeing the crap storm that is the Colts always complaining. Never go to the Dallas boats I'd you don't want to get mad. They think they're God's gift to earth. However, I have never payed on another board, I'm just a lurker.

As far as message boards go.....we're the jewel in the crown.

By far the best format and most informed fans compared to every other fan/team message board.

Good job Jeremy.  Actually thought about buying some stock in this website.  If there is stock to be obtained.

Honestly, other forums format is confusing. We have fans of all sports, and we're really dedicated. Heck, even other teams fans come here to chat it up quite a bit. We have a good thing going here on the huddle.

I sometimes read an opponents board in the week before we play them.  Rarely if ever post on them though.

i usually can't post on them because they don't verify my accounts until either the day of the game or the day after regardless of when i try to create the account.

I'll browse other team boards if it has something to do with the a former panther, like seeing what ravens fan think of Smitty.

Or if a major story comes up, like Hernandez and the Patriots or more recently Kiko and the Bills. The Bills boards right now are on serious suicide watch.

A while back, I was member of another Panthers board that has since gone away. But, every week before a game, we would  "attack" another teams board as members of the French Revolution. Everybody would register as Frenchies (or Scandinavians, for some reason), and take over the boards. A lot of times, they would figure it out and play along, or get really pissed and boot us (Rams and Saints).

Especially that time we played the Raiders. And Bushy attacked the wrong Raiders. The Colgate Universty Marching Band may never be the same.

i usually check over on the saints and falcons boards if we beat them just to see what the general reactions are. if it's a particularly epic win sometimes i'll read through the gameday thread and try to pick out moments that we did something awesome and then skip the next three pages of banshee wails

i don't even bother with the bucs board, where gameday threads are less exciting than your average trucatzfan monologue
