See, I told you back in August. Superbowl is in sight!

Not trying to toot my own horn (well, maybe a little bit), but I was the first to go on record on the forum to say that the Panthers would be in the dance this year. I still believe this to be true. The only thing that can stop us is injury. When we play up to our level and talent and ability---with the consistency, focus, determination, and expectation of excellence on every single play---we are the team to beat. When the coaches coach---keeping the principles of fundamental football in their mind, but not afraid to make appropriate game-specific changes to their game plans when warranted---we do nothing but win. I have been telling you all season long to believe. You're starting to believe now, aren't you? It is OK to believe.

Just Believe! All of the components are there! We have an exciting defense that may give up big plays from time to time, but overall is fundamentally sound and makes big plays. Beason and Peppers lead an extremely young and talented defense. Delhomme has been an amazingly smart game manager and field general. We have D-Wheel and J-Bird (who roll and fly over the competition). We have the two toughest receivers in football, who are arguably the best tandem of receivers in football in the mighty Steve Smith and the venerable Muhsin Muhammad. And, we have a very strong supporting cast of TEs, RB and WR #3s. And, lastly, we have acquired a beast on an extremely tough O-line.

The pieces are in place. The execution and motivation are obviously peaking at the right time. The Super Bowl is ours for the taking.

Gloating before the playoffs is smart.

i agree, plus claiming that you called a SB run back in august is stupid, no offense to you. almost every fan has hopes of making it to the super bowl, and the more homeristic ones "call" it. all this proves is that you sir are a big homer

    • I respect Deion but I said and thought immediately when he was hired there he would not be the coach after 3 seasons.  I don’t see it happening
    • If my reply comes off argumentative, that is not my intention so please don’t take it as such.  You said one word, probably subconsciously, in your post that immediately disqualifies him from being a QB in the NFL. You actually said it twice. Kid. It’s exactly how you see him, and exactly how the rest of the entire NFL sees him as well.  Yes, he is a kid, he looks and acts like a kid and that exactly IS the problem. The NFL is for grown ass men. Period. Hell, our kicker looks like he collects ‘taxes’ as a side hustle. These are straight dudes. Men.  Nothing in his persona changed from last year to this.  Nothing in his physical stature. Nothing. He has shown 0 development. 0. And he disrespects the entire organization, talking video games and Netflix in the offseason. Bro. Really. My man Chuba is busting his ass to look good for his second contract. Set himself up for life. How many RBs make it to even sign contract #3? First 2 games he has to run in to a brick wall continuously because Netflix can’t even get it over the LOS.  He’s a kid who pulled off the biggest heist in world history. He looks happier on the sideline goofing around than he ever has looked on the field. It’s time to cut bait.
    • I hear you and I can imagine it's frustrating as a fan, but UNC-CH leaving the ACC would be throwing away over a century of history. It would really suck if y'all, or Clemson, or any of the other remaining charter members leave. I still think it sucks that Maryland left as well. Feels so wrong not having that rivalry anymore. Maryland fuging hated us and I loved it. Who's Maryland's rival now in the big 10? Rutgers? lol. Also, I think that the Heels are more likely to be Kentucky 2.0 than you are to get serious about football upon joining the SEC. Both UNC (and also Duke's) administrations seem very stuck in their ways with sticking to their ways and remaining basketball powerhouses. I do wish we could see NC teams actually competing in my favorite sport sometimes but alas. I personally value keeping our history intact over trying to become top flight CFB programs because nowadays it's just a pay to win sport anyways. Even if UNC-CH got serious I doubt they could compete with that Texas oil money, or that Oregon nike money, or that USC rich kid money. That's all top level college football really is anymore. You're either an established blue blood or you're willing to waste tons of money that could be spent on education rather than football.
