So we all agree Hendo can't be on the roster this year?

Irrelevant. The problem is people are morons, not that UNC overdrafts UNC players, which they don't, regardless of what was reported and whether or not those reports are true. I don't care what people's "perceptions" are. Those people are wrong, and morons.

Actually, **if** the Bobs passed on a chance to trade for Chris Paul in part because they wanted to bring in some UNC players as part of some publicity stunt, it is hardly irrelevant.

Gerald Henderson would have been a good NBA SG 10 years ago, but his lack of a 3 point shot makes him overpaid in todays game.  You just dont want wing players who cant shoot 3s unless they can run the offense and create for others- there is no way in hell a team like the Spurs would even let Henderson into their rotation.

Its not even really a problem in the regular season, but in the playoffs that poo matters.  Teams do their research and start playing off bad shooters more.  Miami was daring Henderson to shoot 3s in that series, and he couldnt make them.  Killed our offense, let them focus more on Kemba and we had no other options other than a hobble Big Al

Oh, and dont give me the "Hendo is shooting 35% from 3!" bullshit.  He shot that percentage because he barely took any of them, and only when he was wide open.  Josh McRoberts is 5x the outside shooter that Henderson is, and he shoots like 1% higher

Actually, what I said the first time. No matter what they did in that one draft, for anyone to still be saying that "The Bobcats are always drafting UNC players" is lazy and idiotic.

back to what i thought was the topic!...

i think it would be impractical to sign the sort of wing that we're hopefully after (whether it be hayward, parsons or stephenson) and keep hendo on the roster. i would imagine that any of the three named would start alongside MKG, reducing hendo to a sixth man role, which would be fine if he wasn't getting paid $6m next year and we hadn't drafted PJ who we need to give minutes at the SG position. how we trade him, im not too sure!

if we dont end of signing a big name wing, then we stick with hendo (as a starter) up until the trade deadline and see where we stand... potentially he could have a great start to the year and be in demand for a team looking to make a push for the title. if we keep him for another year, its not the end of the world - he will be a valuable expiring contract for 2015-16.

hendo's a good player, but im delighted to say that we're in a position now where we want more than just good players on the hornets team

Some will defend the worst draft in NBA history when Charlotte used 2 lottery picks on Felton and May.

lol, 2005 was not even the worst draft in bobcats history.  That would be 2008, when we took DJ Augustin over Brook Lopez and Alexi Ajinca over Ryan Anderson/ Ibaka/ Nic Batum/ George Hill

Sorry, but drafting Felton and May instead of packaging those picks to move up and get Chris Paul was by far the worst

hindsights great, but at the time, who didn't think that sean may was going to be an allstar?

I didn't.

I wanted Gerald Green with that 2nd 1st round pick not May.

I was fine with the Felton pick but picking May was a BS move when we had Oak already.
