Lance: it's down to LA and Charlotte?

Kobe is moving to SF possibly. There was an article somewhere.

Tell that to Lebron when he shut him down in the last few minutes of the all star game. Now although it's just an all star game. Towards the end it does get competitive. Especially once they get pissed off. And Kobe was eating Lebron up on defense.

This is driving me crazy. Not even one damn rumor. C'mon cho leak something dude

GMs and front offices don't leak stuff, players agents leak stuff to drive bidding up on players. If any of them had talked to the Hornets they would have said something. So I take it we haven't talked to anyone yet besides Livingston. Either that or Cho is making agents a deal to keep quiet

Lance turned down a 5-year $44 million offer from the Pacers. If we sign him it's gonna be for more than that....plus you have to have room for an extension for Kemba next year and Al soon after. Personally I'd rather spend less on an impact team player like Luol Deng. You at least know what you're getting with him.

That's almost 9 mil per year only. Of course he's gonna turn it down. With how this FA been he's gonna get $11mil. That's what he should get. Deng is probably going to get more than $11.

You think if the pacers realize they are going to lose lance they would be up for a lance/hendo sign and trade? Could kill 2 birds with one stone for us. Plus the back courts getting crowded and I want to have plenty of minutes for pj

Well just pray Carmelo chooses the Lakers and by default we get Lance.

Of the Lakers get Carmelo then Nash is gone. The Lakers will at least get another 2 and 3 tier player. Their bench will look awful though.

You're right....but I think that'll be spent on bringing back Gasol considering they have zero front court other then Randle right now.

That said....I wonder if Jordan is meeting with Stephenson today for 4th of July?

I'm in the camp that believes we simply have no interest in this guy

There's no guarantee that we'll get him.  But there is definitely interest.  Knowing the way espn and the big markets work.  If Lance was being avidly pursued or close to signing with the Bulls or the Lakers there would be a lot more publicity about it....even with the Lebron and Carmelo situations running concurrent.  The fact that there's been an iron curtain around where Lance is going to sign only bodes well for us.

I think it's all hype being created by his agent so someone will jump to get him on an offer overpaying him.

I think there's very little hype, aside from what's on this board.  Blows my mind that the Observer hasn't written anything on Stephenson yet, but that could be because Bonnell doesn't want to eat his crow yet.  The Hornets were reportedly interested in Lance last year through several reports I've read.  Broussard said we were going to make a strong push.  I know Broussard and incarcerated bob aren't necessarily always right or anything....but they're both saying the same thing...which if you put the two together it's probably accurate.  In addition to a couple of sources as well from "Forbes-like" web zines.

There's no reason to think we don't have a good shot at this....other then it hasn't happened yet.

As far as Lance getting over payed....that's debatable depending on how you view him as a player.  Based on the other offers made to players so far in free agency it sounds about par for the course.

Probably about time for the NBA to think about raising their salary cap a good bit.
