I had some buddies in college who decided they wanted to smoke a whole hog for homecoming. They bought a young pig, fed it for a few months, became too attached and couldn't take it to be slaughtered when the time rolled around. He was a cool pig, tho. They named him Dirk (short for Dirk Digler).

For the record, I would have only eaten shoulder meat in a true show of Lexington style BBQ pride.
