Pitkanen Most Likely Done

Chip Alexander: Hurricanes GM Ron Francis said he talked to Joni Pitkanen’s agent and was told that Pitkanen can not put his foot in a skate.

@ice_chip: Talked last year with Pat Peake, who suffered same injury as Pitkaken. He became emotional talking about Joni and rehab he was facing.

@ice_chip: Peake suffered broken heel bone in 1996, had to retire at 24, still has pain walking. Just an awful injury.

Such an awful turn of the events, we could really use him.

Never thought he would come back from that.  I've heard what a terrible injury it is and how hard it can be to even walk afterward let alone skate in the NHL.
