If Carmelo goes to Chicago, Lance is the Hornets if we want him IMO. We'll have the cap space to offer more than Indiana if it's about money with him. LA is probably wary of going long term with bigger names hitting the market in the next couple of years after Kobe comes off the books.

I'm guessing Bonnell thinks CHI/LAL have a better shot.  I think he'd have a better chance of getting on a better team here.   Chicago could be great, but Rose's injury concerns are something to worry about.

I agree that he's not worth a huge contract(from a fan's point of view) but the market appears to see it differently . Stephenson is not Lebron or Kobe, where their presence alone makes you a contender. Alot of players can score 20 pts, grab 10 rebounds & dish out 10 lasts but few can do it on any given night. The real value Stephenson could bring is his skill set will allow other players to play more to their strengths

 

 

Lance is only 23 and he has all star potential.  He's played well the last several years.  He's a tough street baller who is not afraid to be the bad guy.  I for one love him.  He catches all this criticism for blowing into precious little Bron Bron's ear hole.   I personally hope he does that every single f'n time we play the Heat.

His prime is still in front of him.  

 

Not saying I'd want to pay the max for Lance....but if we have tooo to get him....then we have too to get him.

Even with the max we could still sign Nelson/ and could probably find a way to make room for McRoberts.  

 

Collectively our depth and rotations would be the best in the league.

We all knew getting Melo was a pipe dream so I'm inclined to agree with this.  Not sure about max deals but im not an NBA salary guy so I don't even really now what that means.  Pay him what we have to but he should be a hornet sooner than later if ts gonna happen.

We may even have to keep Hendo this year.  He'll be easier to trade next year with one less year on his contract.  Theoretically we could do that and still maintain our maneuverability next season.

You're right....no one wants him especially this year.  They won't touch him with a 10 foot pole.....but if he has a decent season and with a year less on his contract next year it would be more likely.
