i told you two kids to quit and you didn't so you get a couple days off. from now on i won't give you any warnings.  i see you hijack threads with your little pissing match and you get another day off.  i don't care who starts it.

if you make an alt to get back in here, i'll ban that too.

He's worth a chance.  We're a small market, so in order to nab most free agents, we'll have to take a chance.  He seems like a fiery competitor and I actually like his personality and goofiness, I want to be entertained.    He could come up and make this his team, he has all the potential.  I don't know if we get him from Indy though.

From purely an outsider "eye test," many times during the playoffs Lance Stephenson was the best player on the court for the Pacers. He and David West seemed like the only two players remotely interested.

He's a very polarizing player who has a unique way of playing the game much like the Bad Boys and Dennis Rodman and all sorts of other very effective players who were characters. I believe his "antics" were blown way out of proportion by the Worldwide Leader who obviously have it in their own interest to create storylines that have LeBron as the center protagonist. Lance was an easy choice for a villain and therefore an easy scapegoat for the Pacers' issues down the stretch despite having a complete non-factor at point in George Hill and Roy Hibbert inexplicably going from All-Star to DeSagana Diop.

If you're concerned that Lance might be a team obliterator here, consider this is one of the best locker rooms in the league with an unquestioned leader in Big Al. We have a defensive-minded coach in Steve Clifford who would appreciate and utilize Lance's skillset. Hairston falls out of the lottery because of his past troubles and is a slam dunk of a pick but you don't want to get the best SG on the market because he doesn't do things the right way? That doesn't add up.

The 2013-14 Bobcats were a lovable bunch of underdogs who made an unexpected run to the playoffs and played hard and were good guys and all sorts of other wonderful good, clean, family-fun intangibles but at the end of the day, the sheer talent on the roster wasn't THAT good and it was painfully obvious in the Heat series, injured Big Al or not. Lance Stephenson injects talent into this roster and, because I don't believe the market will be skyrocketing with teams trying to offer max deals for him, I think he's worth taking a flyer on.

At the end of the day, $8M Lance > $8 McBob, Sessions

Sure market value is 8 but to get him from the Pacers we would have to offer in the 11-12ish range. Which really increases the risk if he does indeed revert to Spurs era Rodman antics.

It's really a bummer when you come into a thread for basketball news but all you read is a bunch of losers arguing with each other.

Stephenson is a player capable of posting a triple double on any given night & would allow Kemba to play off the ball more. Now he will come at huge risk/cost but I seem to remember many feeling the same about Big Al last year.

I encourage debate....but all the SMD and for C-Chuck SMLD references get old.

Lets talk basketball.

sign Jameer Nelson, Lance Stephenson, Luol Deng, and Jimmer, Ed Davis, CDR

Kemba/Nelson/Jimmer

Lance/Hairston/CDR

Deng/MKG/CDR

Davis/Zeller/Vonleh

Al/Biz/Backynski

there's our 14. Though I don't believe it's possible without being in the luxury tax and all that jazz

I thought Ed Davis would be an intriguing option too, but I'm not sure where he would fit in.  I'm not sure where any front court depth we sign would fit in.

Do you think he would take away from the development of Vonleh?

Either way....I guess there's no such thing as too much depth.

So you want more regulation, not less?

There is nothing wrong with "smack." I see very little around here that I would consider "going overboard," and my guess is most around here share my view.
