We're going to have to bring out the big guns (MJ, Mugsy, Ewing, Clifford, and Cho)... take him to The Palm for dinner, and name the court after him.

Fingers crossed with all the bs that went on last year I hope he wants to leave for a new beginning.

I'm just not all that hype about this. I have said a million times, I love Born Ready's game, but I just don't see this perfect fit everyone keeps talking about... if we wouldve draftd him like I had hoped we would when we came out, then we wouldnt have a lot of the other crap on our roster that makes this signing less than desirable for me. Again, Clifford and Cho have both said despite drafting Vonleh that we are planning to have McBob as our starter going forward... ugggggghhh. So there's another ballhandling/facilitator on the wing. And then we have Hairston, who is the scorer we need. So he needs to get minutes... but, then we still have Hendo sitting there, who likely would eat into guard minutes as long as he is here simply because of politics.

So until McBob and/or Hendo is moved, I just don't think the move is ideal. Yes, it would improve our overall talent-level, but it just doesn't make a ton of sense right now.

Seen some reports that a GM said: if at the end of the all star break Lance would've got a $8-12. Now, it's $4-6.

Still think he gets $8-12.

To get him from the Pacers it's going to take a near max deal. Lol

He'll get something like 8-10 from the Pacers and it will take something along the lines of 14m a season for 4 years.

A max for Stephenson would be 4yrs/63,200,000 (15.8 mil).

The absolute most I'd be willing to go is 4yrs/50,000,000 (12.5 per).

When you sign a max the end amount is variable actually. His deal would be for 25% of the cap for 4 years. So when the cap goes up so would the yearly salary (it would go down if the cap happened to go down too).

If MJ will help mentor him, offer the max or close to it. It's going to be hard getting him out of Indy but I think he could be sold on Charlotte. After reading somethings about him he's about to break into one of the top players in the game. It's only a matter of time.

Indy has about $10 mil to work with before they hit the luxury tax (which the absolutely will not exceed).  Wouldnt mind a 2-3 year deal for $11-12 mil if thats what it takes to get him.

Keep in mind that landing Stephenson sets us up to be a legitimate contender in the East post-Miami, simultaneously upgrading our SG position and ball-handling while hurting Indy (who are already over the tax and couldnt sign a replacement)
