MKG's jumpshot is improving

Good lord.  Have any of you ever even trained a dog to do anything.  You shape a new behavior a little at a time, especially if you're trying to correct a flaw that is very engrained.  With MKG's shot Price will hit one thing at a time training parts of the shot before adding another part.  Having him focus on nothing but hitting a certain release point.  Having him focus on nothing but where his elbow goes.  Etc.  It's much easier to focus on one little thing until you get it right and practice it so much it becomes reflexive.  After a few weeks, suddenly MKG has a horrible shot but it has a good release point.  Then a few weeks later of hard practice he has a horrible shot with a good release point and good elbow position.

You keep shaping the action you want little by little until MKG just averaging 20 points a game.  it's one step at a time and it'll probably be 2 steps forward and one step back each time which he learns and add correct form to each part of his shot.  If the kid puts in the work and has a good teacher there is no reason to think he can't because a solid shooter.

Even if it's just a mediocre shot, it would be huge. We seen in the playoffs that if MKG has the confidence, even with just driving the ball, he can do damage. I hope that confidence from the playoffs continue into next season. We need to keep getting him to attack, and also work on those free throws lol.

Well his jumpshot can't get any worse.

I hate to bust some bubbles but we heard the EXACT same thing last offseason.

Mark Price has a whole off-season this time to work with him. Let's also not forget the hand injury that set him back last season.

Mark Price will fix it.  Glad for the time being he did not get a HC gig.  Price is a God amongst shooters and by all accounts can teach/coach.

Good luck to MKG and for me, I will believe it until I see otherwise.

As a shooter myself in AAU, HS, and small college.....it's extremely hard to reverse the muscle memory of shot mechanics at late age.....especially in the midst of a game.  Tweaking mechanics is one thing.  But when you have to rewrite the book....it's hard.

Imagine someone learning how to write perfect calligraphy in 3 months when they couldn't even write in cursive before.

I could shoot a basketball like I'm playing the game quarters at a bar and have a better %.

I love when people say they can shoot better than MKG, let's see how well you shoot with a 6'8" NBA defender in your face lol.

Anyone can go 'outside' and hit '10 in a row'.  From that gif he actually does look smoother and less of a hitch, I think he's on his way.

It's a rough gif but look at his shot here... Quicker release on the jumpshot and it looks smoother but still has some work to do

I am waiting to get my son's hair cut and watched that loop like 30 times on my phone like it would get better. Put in work MKG

One....I'm kidding cause I liked that joke.   Secondly MKG never has a defender in his face from outside.  They let him shoot.  He is a great finisher though....and I'm glad he working hard on his stroke.  He can only imiprove.  Will he ever be a good shooter....no.  I'd be happy with 38% from 17 ft.

As far as my ability.......I'd love you to put your money where you mouth is.
