Thomas Davis more than likely will retire a Panther

top dawg

I love this man. He is a true Superman and someone that everyone can respect and admire. He is the epitome of perseverance, strength, and heart. Easily my top 3 favorite Panthers of all time. I will riot on Mint Street if he doesn't get a statue one day. You hear me, Big Cat?

While I agree with all of the positive sentiment I would be surprised if he finishes out his career under his current contract.

Hopefully he and the team will be able to work out a final contract that is both respectful to him and beneficial to the team.

I don't envy some of the choices that Gettleman is going to have to make the next few years.

Davis has looked different this offseason than in years past. The black knee brace that had clung to him in every practice for years is gone. Davis said he feels confident without it, and he wouldn’t have done it for the three-day minicamp without the OK from head trainer Ryan Vermillion.

“But I’d rather see him practice with it on. Thank you for reminding me,” Rivera said. “He’s going to get in trouble with me."

Wtf? If Rivera feels better with him practicing with it then why would the head trainer OK it?

Because Rivera is concerned about his LB. Whereas the medical staff is only concerned that he is healthy.

So...as long as TD and the medical staff are OK with him not wearing the brace. Rivera really has no say in the matter. Although Rivera may have concerns, he really has to just live with it.

A healthy TD is going to be special. I can definitely live with that.
