Rockets declined Chandler Parsons 4th-year option

You do realize that Parsons and and Hayward shot the same amount of shots per game, the difference is that Parsons field goal percentage was way better than Hayward's.

Oh and playing Hayward at the two when he shot 31% from the three point line last year (worse than Henderson), that's awful.

Finally Parson's averages a full 2.6 points more per game than Henderson... that's definitely not the same.

That's an awfully simplistic way to evaluate stats. Parsons had Dwight Howard and James Harden taking attention away from him. Hayward had... Derrick Favors and Alec Burks? His shooting percentages dropped last season because he took worse shots, not because he suddenly forgot how to shoot. The Jazz downgraded from Millsap and Jefferson to Kanter and Favors. Reunite him with Big Al and he starts getting better looks and the percentages go up.

I don't think he's amazing and I'm not sold on giving him a massive contract, which someone will do, but I still like Hayward better than Parsons for us.

I'd love Parsons here, but it's not going to happen unless we vastly overpay.

He's a large market FA, who has even shown interest in being "The Bachelor" (yes, the TV show). Highly doubtful he's coming to Charlotte since I'm sure he's looking to be in a higher profile town.

This tells you everything you need to know about WOW.

Facts, stats, and details mean nothing to him....he knows better because hex watched the game.

Lol

Yea I trust my own eyes over others opinions. Crazy right??

Let us know what is going on since none of us watch the games.

You can have your opinion. That's OK. But when I watched the games I saw the wings making up for no shot blocking and a big who can't play the pick and roll. Out of thoes wings they used MKG to guard the best offensive players. So i'm sorry if I believe what I saw over certain stats.

Which again Carpanfan posted a article which was more detailed then yours.

Even that article said the overall impact was hard to quantify, but I agree MKG is good on defense, but don't think he is sooo good he can't be started over.

PER is calculated in different ways I guess because on Basketball Reference he is rated in the 70s in the NBA, which is decent but not amazing.

Basketball Reference also does defensive win shares % and he is actually rated below Parsons in the measurement and NBA.Com has a defensive impact rating and MKG is way way down that list.

Just like Pff has Kuechly as the most overrated defender by their stat analysis. But do you believe that?

That doesn't affect how poor your three point shot is...

No. And I don't think Parsons is a better defender than MKG and I think MKG is more valuable than those measurements suggest.

You keep acting like I am saying MKG is bad on defense. I'm not. I am saying he isn't so amazing on defense that he can't be started over by the right guy if we sign someone.

And again PFF isn't stat analysis, it is a grading system.

I will also say that MKG is a reliable jump shot away from being a force on offense as well as defense.

I have this worry though that his hitch is a mind block not dissimilar to Barkley's golf swing. Those can be hard to overcome.

He really needs to change everything and start from scratch on his jumper. It is beyond a simple tweaking.

Don't want Parsons or Hayward at the cost it would take to get them.

Trade Henderson to the Cavs for Jarrett Jack. Rids us of Hendo, gets our backup oh while not eating any cap space.

Sign Lance Stephenson (4 years 38 million)

Sign Pau Gasol (2 years 20 million)

Sign Pargo

Stephenson fits our team, Pargo as our 3rd of, and Gasol here as a vet starter and tutor for our youngsters. With Gasol, he can pass as good as Mcbob, but will give us more scoring and more rebounding. His high post game will be great with big Al like it was with Bynum.

Kemba / Jack / Pargo

Stephenson / Neal / Haiston

MKG / Taylor / Hairston

Gasol / Zeller / Vonleh

Al / Biyombo / Zeller

This would be a very deep and talented team with lots of flexibility.
