All Hail Cho The Great and MJ The Magnificent

Cho gonna Cho.  MJ gonna MJ...

I'm not sure this offseason could've started any better, and furthermore, I think MJ is finally gonna use his pull to bring a bonafide, league-recognized superstar this offseason - he has stated that's what he wants to do, and we made several moves to open up more cap space tonight...  He's going for it.  At the very least, if we miss out on one of the superstars, then we definitely will sign several key contributors to modest contracts.

And props to MJ for letting one of his buddies walk when it came to building this team...  It's amazing, but you can tell the difference it made this year when there was only one cook in the kitchen, and that being Cho (with MJ's blessing, obviously).

This draft was direct, decisive, and for the first time, felt like it filled needs and showed a clear direction in mind with each pick.

I'm just amazed.  And not only were the picks amazing and the way it all came together (Vonleh falling to 9th, Hairston lasting not till just the 24th pick, but the 26th pick), but then Cho rapes and pillages the Heat for more picks, then turns around and dumps Haywood while gaining more cap space to sign a superstar.

This is amazing.  That is all.

I agree. I just wanna say this. It was epic when people raged when pj wasn't picked at first hahahah. I know how it is first hand to overreact during a draft and it was funny to me. Lol.

But yes i love the way this franchise is headed. On a upward trend and can get much higher if we can bring in a melo or superstar. I will atleast give props to cho and MJ if they just attempt to sign a big name. But yes. Obviously the best off season possible has started and can get even better.

You have to figure the rockets weren't gonna take hairston with the 25 pick since they have harden already.

The reason they didn't want him was because they didn't want to pay anyone with that pick. They took a foreign player to save them money to go after Melo. Cho knew they would take a foreigner so there was no way Pj would go to them.

By taking a foreigner, they can 'stash' him away for the future while he finished his contract in Europe. He just used smarts to dictate exactly what they would do.

Great draft. Vonleh is huge and great on the defensive and offensive ends. Also was 11-19 from three point last season. I can't believe he lasted til 9. He could have gone #1 in a lot of drafts. He is a legit star and PJ has a chance to be another James Harden type SG. He can completely take over a game and light it up. Plus some absolute genius moves were made. I hate helping Miami but it is what it is. Such a good draft. Vonleh and PJ will look so good in purple and teal. Bring on FA. Can't wait for this season

    • Really?  Back to this again? How many times have I said that I’d prefer to trade back from #1? Too many to count, but as I’ve pointed out, that’s going to be much easier said than done, as once we signal we want to trade back, teams will know we don’t want any of the QBs and they’d target the 2nd pick in a trade instead. All of my “T-Mac at #1” talk has been discussed under two circumstances… the first being that no QB or DE pop before the draft, and that we can’t trade back. But again, I know you don’t like to actually read that stuff when I say it, as I’ve said it numerous times.
    • Thanks for posting this. While this was far from a great performance, this critique shows what some of us noticed last week. Bryce played "a little better". There is some talent there. But, as you pointed out we really don't have a great pass blocking line for dropping back each down when we are behind. BY has got some bad habits and physical limitations. At times his teammates let him down. The play calling isn't always the best. I hope he can learn from last week and show us some improvement in the Saints game.
    • Oh, and yes, I’d take a WR first in this upcoming draft, but again, that’s not in a vacuum I wouldn’t have taken him over the QBs this past year or likely the ones next year either. It’s all relative to who is available in a specific draft, and I don’t think any of the QB’s are worth the risk at #1 this year. Also the fact that you’ve said you would take T-Mac #2 but scoff at him going #1 is just in itself, super weird.  How you can justify a player at #2 but not #1 solely because of their position and with complete disregard to the other players available, is absolutely crazy town talk
