No. 26 Pick: P.J. Hairston

Recommended Posts

This party doesn't make me very happy. Am I overthinking it or does this fall in line with the type of attitude and behaviors that got him into trouble?

Since when is he the only athlete drafted in a major sport to hold a draft party?

I'm sorry, but I would definitely have to say you are overthinking this one.

Right...go ahead and compare PJ with every other athlete drafted. Don't take his past into consideration.

That makes sense

My biggest problem with the party promo is I thought he lost his college eligibility for getting caught up with a promoter. Getting kicked out of College basketball is a big deal. I assumed he learned from that experience but more parties concerns me.

But here is my theory on it. His talent is a steal at 26. I feel like he can be a good basketball player even if he's a train wreck off the court. If the organization is concerned about his personal life they can let him make a name for himself and trade him away. The only way the Hornets lose is if PJ can't deliver on the court.

Are you upset with the pick?

I can't imagine that our front office did not discuss his past behavior in the draft process. Can we let the guy get to Charlotte, and actually set foot on the court before we roast him for celebrating being drafted. Geesh.

It's disheartening to see that party promo right away.  Shows me PJ doesn't get it.  If he wants to have a NBA career he will have to disassociate with this crowd.  The "party promoter" that got him kicked out of UNC is a guy with SIX felony convictions.  I bet he is the same guy throwing this party.

Not a good look.

I couldn't be happier about the pick.

But I do think that a guy with character issues and a history of making bad decisions should use better judgement than throwing a party open to anybody in Greensboro. If you don't think that's a recipe for trouble then you need to get out more.

Can you make a post without blowing things out of proportion? No one is "roasting" him.

How do we know this "promoter" is the one throwing the party?

Seems like some assumptions are being made. Hey, if you don't like the pick you don't like the pick.

"Blowing things out of proportion?" Ironic. I'm not the one overreacting about a draft party.

I actually like the pick. PJ is a cold blooded shooter with huge upside.

If he didn't have glaring character issues he'd probably be a top 15 pick. I just hope he gets his act together.

As I was saying in a previous post, you have to believe Cho, and MJ went over this with him at length. Obviously he has a past, and there is some risk  no doubt, but you gotta believe in our front office, and let the guy breathe a little.
