No. 26 Pick: P.J. Hairston

Recommended Posts

A little off topic but why are trips to the line used as a stat argument? That means refs blow the whistle the most for Harden is all.

This is a valid argument, because "superstar calls" are huge.  As Bobcats/Hornets fans, we should have seen enough of them for the other team in our history to realize this.

Um no.

Harden is routinely / aggressively attacking the basket off the dribble.

Hence is high FT rate.

Aggressiveness and the ability to take your man off the dribble and get into the paint is much more to getting FT attempts than superstar calls (which do play a small part).

Its why Wade was getting to the line 10 times a game when he was 24 and 25, but goes less than 5 times a game these days.  He is slower and cant beat players off the dribble anymore

Yes Wade was also a beast at this.

So many good things can and do happen with dribble penetration. Should be the priority on every possession.

Player comparisons are stupid anyways. It's just easy to crunch analysis. Each player is unique in their own way.

Love this pick. I firmly believe PJ can be a top 5 SG in the league in 2-3 years considering how weak the position is right now. We have added our young shooter to the core, a vital piece imo. PJ will hopefully be a lights out shooter for us that also gets to the rim and finishes through contact a few times per game. I think he'll be a career18-22 PPG scorer. Needs to work on conditioning though which is why I expect Henderson to be starting for much of the season
