If you aren't desperate for work id shoot for 50 and settle for 45. Most people won't work those hours so you should be compensated

Research the company. Have some good questions prepared. As others have said....be genuine. Also be flexible and open. Google interview questions for the type of job you are interviewing for. Prepare answers. Also prepare for the questions about your strength and weaknesses question. Turn your weakness into a strength.such as new to the job field, but willing to learn, put in the time, etc.

you immediately get more for working 3rd shift (if i read that right)

 

3rd shift will make you wanna lose your mind. be prepared for it if you get the job. start trying to stay up as late as possible before you start dude it's a killer. just remember this isnt permanent.

3rd shift is where all the fun is. Let's see I've had 3 naked women, no idea where they came from, management isn't around to hassle me or the guys. No one faults you for nodding off. If in an office you guys could joust with office chairs and pool noodles. Which is way safer than what we do at work of lighting each other on fire

We get a lot done and have that much time to screw off after. It's amazing what can get done according to API standards without a manager standing right there.

Minimum 45, after taxes it's not that much.

 

However, with those hours you will be much less likely to spend like a normal 9-5er.

I know based on per hour it's like 3-5 bucks more so you can do the math

So I got the call today to come in for a final interview. It's next Wednesday so I have time to get cleaned up(haircut,shave,nice shirts). It was a really casual call. He told me I was one of the final choices and he'd like me to come in to observe a broadcasting session. It's not a stress test I would strictly be observing and attached to his hip the whole day. By the way the person I've been speaking with is the Chief Editor and we really seem to have a connection. But anyway after the broadcast is over he wants me to meet the News Director and have a sit down with the 3 of us. Really excited and nervous!

Good luck man. Make sure you are paying close attention to what the person in the position you are aplying for is doing. they may ask for things you noticed, or may have done differently.
