2014 World Cup: Round of 16

Germany is growing impatient with their play. There is a huge gap between Algeria's forwards and mids, and Germany isn't sitting back and exploiting it. They've gone this way over time in the World Cup, but it's like they are trying to make Muller and out-and-out striker instead of running a true false 9. They need to take the chances as they come instead of forcing them.

Germany isn't the power many were assuming they'd be!!!

and yes, I'm a Dutch fan and yes, Robben sold it at the end....but at the same time...it was a foul.  if you don't sell it, you don't get it...and that's FIFA's fault...not the players or the refs.

but...also...you go put on a pair of cleats and I'll step on the top of your foot with my cleats on and you let me know how that feels!

also...here's a list of all the countries and their players who don't dive:

Well and after he did not get the call in the first half he really had not choice but to sell it.

As a Bayern fan, I love Robben.  He is predictable though.  How could the defender not know he was going to cut back like that, and how can he recklessly stick his foot out there in the box like that when his opponent is one of the best in the world at drawing penalties?  It was foolish.

Mexico lost that game when they decided to give the Dutch 75-80% (do not know the actual number but it seemed like that) possession over the final thirty-five to forty minutes.  Thy were outplaying them and then they just stopped.

true that...they played a great game for the first 50 minutes or so and then changed things up after that.

anything can happen in the World Cup, but I have to think that Costa Rica will be a much easier match than Mexico was and I'm going to guess the heat won't be as extreme either...couldn't imagine playing in that poo....

I definitely agree and I think the conditions hindered the Dutch greatly.  I went to HS in the Tampa area and remember conditions similar to what they were describing, of course that was not in the flippin' winter.  The humidity (and to a lesser extent the heat) are the reason I am in CO now.
