Bench His @ss!

Recommended Posts

I did, and I've concluded that you know squat about soccer (or at least his position) and/or you're a Bradley nuthugger or his agent.

Michael has been shite. There's no way around it. He'll occasionally sink a nice deep pass down the field but that doesn't make up for his botched passes and turnovers. You commended him for controlling the field against Portugal but make excuses for him against Ghana and Germany.

Plain and simple. Bradley appears like a great midfielder in a small pond but the shine wears off that apple the moment he hits the bigger ponds.

- I've concluded that you're just an inept Mexico fan that gets off at thinking that every U.S. player is terrible.

- I'm not making excuses for him. I have said he struggles with possession but I'm also intelligent enough to see what he brings to the game. That final ball that was put on Dempsey's head (I think it was Dempsey)... yeah that came from Bradley... the combination play that led up to most of our chances... yeah that came from Bradley.

- Bradley has had an average World Cup, BUT like I've said before... he's playing out of position (he was a CDM during qualification and a CDM for Roma) but he's our only option at CAM.

- Oh and the primary goal of the CDM (besides defense) is to be a link up... did you actually ever play soccer?

- Why don't you go swing from CR7's marbles some more because in your eyes if a player isn't as good as Ronaldo he sucks.

I like that soccer is getting more popular in the US and more people are discussing it in detail, but damn, you can really tell who played the game at a decently high level or who understands the game well when you hear people talking about it.

back to the op... I'm going to take the word of our coach over the angry naysayers in this thread...

http://www.espnfc.us/united-states/story/1917722/us-coach-jurgen-klinsmann-very-satisfied-with-michael-bradleys-play-at-world-cup

"I am very, very satisfied with Michael in this tournament so far," Klinsmann said a day after the Yanks secured their spot in the round of 16 despite dropping a 1-0 decision to Germany. "We came through this group because of his influence on the field."

I also agree with him, however, that Bradley *can* be better.  but benching him would hurt this team.
