Off man/cvr2 standard shell doesn't really bother me until we're in 3rd down and the #yds off>#yds for 1st down. To me, it's like a receiver stopping his route short of 1st down yardage. It can be successful, but other ways should be tried first.

If the past is any indication I think we'll see even less press coverage with a Meeks/tampa2 influence to our D. As I understand it, the CBs play off coverage even more in a "traditional" tampa 2 D. I just read some comments by colts fans complaining about the off coverage they've used in previous years, just like us. The only wildcard here is Marshall, I think he might actually be better in press coverage, so we might take advantage of that on occasion. Back to the original question, what do the people who have been to camp actually say about this?

I think it will depend on what he sees in camp and whether he thinks we can pull off man coverage or not. He has a history of sometimes playing a man under cover 2 on first and second down and zone on third down. He also has played cover 1 robber with man under and the strong safety playing a rover that can take away the curls, screens and draws. But I suspect he will introduce it slowly throughout the preseason and go pretty vanillla for a few games especially since the 2nd and third strings will be playing at least half to 2/3rds of the time. As the season progresses I expect him to go to more man if he thinks the DBs are up to it. Other wise we will use a lot of zone.

What I am waiting for, is to see how he mixes it up and makes adjustments as we go. Will he change things up if they are not working or keep the same way like Trgo did all game long and each week.

Fun fact about sports...you are in no way required to spend even a penny in order to be a fan of the sport. You are also in no way required to spend even a penny in order to be a fan of a specific organization, whether that organization be the sports governing body (the NFL) or a specific team (the Panthers).

Of course, if no one spends any money then the team will fold (the Charlotte Bobcats of the future) and the governing body (Arena Football).....but that is a conversation for another time.
