Hornets willing to part with #9 for Afflalo

A top ten pick for Afflalo?  Has this dude been in an all-star game?  At least I talk about trading for worthwhile players like Love, even though that's not likely.  We shouldn't trade away valuable picks for average guys.  We aren't desperate here.

Why not?

Afflalo >>>>>>>>>>>>> McDermott

Affalo is 30. His potential is tapped out. Never been an all star. Never will be. Been average his whole career. And he will be a rental. No way I trade 9 for affalo straight up. No friggin way. He's not even that much better than Hendo. NOOO

Even though a lot of people mock McDermott to us, in reality I don't think we will take him with the 9th pick.  I think it's more likely we take Stauskas, and I would say Stauskas have more upside than Afflalo.  Yet if we took Mickey D's, he may be a solid sixth man coming off the bench.  Shooting wise he has great potential.  Afflalo has peaked, and he's just average it seems.

Afflalo is not even 30!!! The man just reached his ceiling last year. Who the hell care if hes an All Star or not???? Al Jefferson never once made the All Star before.

Not even that much better than Hendo? LMFAO!

Its damn funny how you guys can sit here and brag about Hendo (before) and Kemba, but going to tear apart a player of Afflalo caliber.

Please quit. That's the dumbest post I've read on here in a while.

Arron Afflalo ranks 8th in shooting guard scoring, 6th in field goal percentage among shooting guards, and 4th in three point percentage among shooting guards. If you want to go even further, he's the second most efficient shooter among shooting guards who average over 35 minutes per game (Dragic is first).

On the contrary, Henderson ranks 18th in shooting guard scoring, 15th in field goal percentage among shooting guards, and didn't even shoot enough three pointers to qualify in the rankings among shooting guards for three point percentage.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that Afflalo is a little better than Henderson.

And if Afflalo sucks because he's never been to an all-star game due to playing in small markets... then so does Al Jefferson.

(1) Trade for Afflalo!!!

(2) $20mil in cap

(3) two picks left in a deep draft class

I feel pretty damn good.

PG: Walker / draft / FA

SG: Afflalo / Neal / Hendo

SF: MKG / Taylor / draft

PF: Pau Gasol / Zeller

C: Al Jefferson / Biyombo

With Lebron opting opt, the EAST is wide open atm!

Al Jefferson had to deal with injury issues.  That probably had a play in not making all-star rosters.  Plus, Big Al has put up historical type numbers in the past.  Is Afflalo a game changer?  I doubt it, but he will probably only be a one year rental anyway.  It's not worth it in this deep draft.

Let's not make excuses...

Afflalo like Jefferson was snubbed from the all-star team this year. At the all-star break Afflalo was averaging 20 points per game.

    • Him and Sanders are the only QBs I would consider in the first round. I won’t be upset if we take Sanders, unlike some people on the board. Both have potential to be really good NFL QBs if the teams can develop them.  But as we have seen teams are not willing or are unable to now properly develop rookie QBs.
    • I remember the last time we had a Cam at QB in Charlotte
    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
