Vince Young will be in the Hall of Fame

KT. Kerry won 10 in a row last year. No change of culture threads. Hmm

Good for Vince though.

How many did he win this year? He had a nice 6 game losing streak (8 if you count including last year) and was about to get Fisher fired. And just like his rookie year Vince has to come in and save the day. Vince is a saviour.

I wonder is this a case of Vince not taking football very seriously last year, not studying tape, not studying the playbook, etc. and this year, after being benched for a while, he woke up and said, "crap, if I'm gonna ever do anything, I've got to take this seriously..."

We all know he has the athletic talent, it's got to be something like this...

KT, do you put any stock, whatsoever, into who the Titans were playing when they got the W's and the L's?

Or to the fact that the D was learning how to play without their best player?

Young has been playing well, but lets hold off on anointing him a savior.

The team hadnt won a single game this season. They were averaging 17 points a game before. They now are averaging 31 a game in their 4 wins. Let me guess, its the defense that has the offense scoring more points?

KT, I have been on here long enough to know that you are smarter than that.

Again, not saying that VY isn't playing well, but lets just be honest about this.

Game 1...At Pitt, lost by 3 to the World Champs....-10-13.

Game 2...Home, Houston, lost by 3...31-34.

Game 3..At NJ..Jets...hot team, lost by 7....17-24.

Game 4...At Jacksonville...bad loss to a probable playoff team...17-37.

Game 5...Home vs Indy...could be the best team in the NFL....9-31.

Game 6...At NE...totally worthless effort on both sides...0-59

Bye.

Game 7...Home vs Jacksonville...great win...30-13.

Game 8...At SF...not a good team...win by a TD...34-27.

Game 9..Home vs Buffalo....don't even need to comment...41-17.

Game 10..At Houston...win by three...great win...20-17.

You have to admit that there are some HUGE differences in the teams played in the first 6 weeks vs. the ones played the last 4.

Lets just be realistic here and say Collins faced SF, Buffalo, Jax, and Houston, that he would at least be 2-2 most likely 3-1.

And if VY had faced Indy, NE, Pitt, and Houston again that he would be at best 1-3 IMO.

To sum this up real quick, he is playing better than Kerry Collins, but is a far cry from a franchises' savior.

thefuzz why does it bother you to hear a black man being called a "saviour"? Tennesee played the Jags and Texans with Collins and lost both games. They got blown out BIG TIME against the Jags, so I dont know why you would even go to the "Vince has played an easier schedule" argument when Vince has already played 2 teams that Collins did and posted better stats and results. Remember, I didnt say Vince is an elite QB or the best in the league, I said he was a "saviour" of his franchise, and he is. Anyone who doesnt believe Phillip Rivers is the best QB in the league can see that. Did you ACTUALLY watch Collins play this year? How you are penciling him in wins for him is INSANE and so biased to me. This is a guy that lost 59-0 in his last start and wasnt completing 60% of his passes and had more picks than TDs. He could not get crucial 3rd downs and was a statue back there in pocket. How many wins would you pencil in for JaMarcus Russell if he remained starter of the Raiders, cuz thats about how good Kerry Collins was playing this year.

When a black QB plays like poo and sucks, no one has any problem heaping blame on them and giving them full credit for it (JaMarcus Russell, Vince this offseason, etc) but when he does well and is the obvious reason his team has turned their season around people will look for anything else to credit for it. "Oh the defense is playing better", "the training staff has the team in better conditioning", "their opponents arent that good". LMAO. Its so obvious some people are paranoid about black QBs being successful taking up potential roster spots from white boys. No other position on the football field do you get this unspoken fear when analyzing performance. When a black cornerback has a good game or black running back has a good game, its OK to acknowledge it. But a black QB we gotta exhaust all other possible scenarios before we shower them with praise. Its sad man.

Why is it always about this, man? You're a broken fuggen record.

:nonod:

Because thefuzz seemed to have an issue with me calling a QB whos won well over 60% of his starts, has been to the playoffs, a pro bowl, been ROY, and won 4 consecutive starts for a team that had lost 6 straight this season a "saviour". Dudes get mad when you say something nice about a black QB they're scared shitless they're gonna have to root for a league full of these dudes one day.

It's not always about the color of the man's skin, dude.
