Vagrant why didnt you answer my 3 questions I posed regarding the QUARTERBACK history & future of the Carolina Panthers? Whats sad is Im not asking the Panthers to do anything more than what teams like the Titans, Steelers, Eagles, Redskins, Jaguars, Ravens, etc have been doing. But we see how overprotective & defensive people are about that QUARTERBACK position in Carolina. Are we gonna be stuck in the cave ages forever? Where's the vision? Are people content to be losers all their lives with no willingness to try different things? Guys we're losing the race and we're being left behind. Its time to catch up with the times and open our minds and hearts to these young guys like a Vince Young or a Dennis Dixon or a Josh Johnson or a Pat White, etc to be leaders and field generals for us. We can invest a pick in 1 of these guys and I promise the franchise wont fall apart, Bojangles wont go outta business, your egos will remain in intact.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - It will be a vastly different Tennessee team that'll charge into Lucas Oil Stadium to face the Colts Sunday.

The Titans were 0-4 when the Colts took them down 31-9 in Nashville. Now,the Titans are on a five-game roll thinking playoffs.

So why the turnaround?

Much of the credit goes to the man behind center, quarterback Vince Young. The first-round draft pick in 2006 was struggling until team owner Bud Adams told his coach to put V-Y in after an 0-6 start.

Young's newfound poise and leadership coming out of the doghouse has been nothing short of remarkable, even Peyton Manning is marveling at Young's confidence

Manning says, "It's hard to sit and sit and sit, and all of a sudden come in and play. Certainly alot of difference when you come in and face the bullets, but what he's done is very impressive. Our defense, having played against him in the past knows all the different challenges he provides."

Linebacker Gary Brackett adds, "He's very confident. I guess right now he already lost his job so he has nothing to lose as far as that's concerned, so he's been playing well at a high quality right now. Those guys are 5-0, and I think this team has really rallied behind him and they're playing good football for him"

Good to see Peyton Manning has a healthy respect for what a QB like Vince Young can and is doing right now.

If a team does anything other than pick the best player to fill their need, regardless of color, they're not doing their jobs.

Said it before, and will say it again...

If they can read a defense, make good decisions, throw an accurate pass and lead their teammates, it doesn't matter what color they are. They have a chance to be successful pro quarterbacks.

Truthfully, even if they can do all those things, it doesn't guarantee success. if they can't do those things, forget it.

If they happen to also be good runners, fine. If not, it isn't a problem.

Not a single one of the best QBs in the league right now (Manning, Brees, Rivers, Favre, Brady) scares anybody as a run threat. It hasn't hampered them one bit.

Besides, the only black quarterback in the league worth having is McNabb. Everybody else is nothing special anyways. It sounds like you want Carolina to have a black quarterback simply to have a black quarterback. Vince Young is a headcase and the Titans offense starts and ends with Chris Johnson. When you have a HB averaging 6.6 yards per carry with 1300 yards, the QB doesn't have to be Peyton Manning to win football games. All he has to do is not lose them. Yeah, he has done that so far but so could a lot of quarterbacks.

Thank you guys for these fear riddled statements. Ive been showing people this thread. Suffice to say, its opened some eyes to how stuck in the cave ages we are. Like I said earlier, some of yall just dont believe in black QBs like you do white ones and it shows with how easy you generalize them. Keep in mind lurkers, these are fans that have never had a young black QB on their team EVER. But they will tell you what black people CANT do or what their potential is in a heartbeat as quarterbacks.

The people debating you would be more than happy with a black QB like Garrard. Others want Jason Campbell. What we don't want is the Michael Vick/Eric Crouch kind (good runner/lousy passer) but you equate that with racism primarily because, without leaning on racism as a crutch, you can't keep up in a debate based on facts.

In your mind, anyone who dislikes Michael Vick is a racist. That notion is ridiculous. There are loads of reasons not to like Vick as both a QB and a person, none of them having anything to do with his being black.

Thats like me saying the only white QBs worth a damn this decade are Manning & Brady. Thats 2 white QBs out of the 150-200 that have been drafted, undrafted, & shuffled thru this league since 2000. You realize thats less than 1% that will actually live up to the "golden boy" hype yall want to put on them. And when Joey Harrington and David Carr fail yall kill them breathing and act like they dont exist. Its OK to acknowledge the 4 that are good, but never speak on the 200 that suck.

With his contract and being the starter for another team you know its highly unrealistic he comes here anytime soon. What Scot doesnt want is to have to give a young black man the same love and affection he bestowed on a mediocre "fiery" guy like Delhomme.
