We've had cover 2 in the playbook for years. Nothing new here other than a focus on speed "may" make it more effective and it "may" become a bigger part of the game plan.

As for the NFC South, the staffs of both the Saints and Falcons have burned the candle at both ends scheming to beat the cover two and both have the weapons to do it. The cover 2 is hardly a panacea for the sins of our defense last year.

One way or another i'm not complaining if we get sacks or hurries at least it shows that the defense is doing the right thing and hopefully helping us win games.

I think the version of "cover 2" we will see will be more beneficial with the zone aspect so that Brees () and his short routes along with TE's may be covered better on the short routes since the cb's and linebackers will be in better position to break up passes..

this has been a major problem in the past that the cover 3 has left huge holes in the middle and on short routes...
