Wolves Trying To Find A Third Team To Facilitate Love Trade

Recommended Posts

He may not go to GSW (or re-sign if traded), which is why you don't trade away good players for rentals.

Wrong. Everything I've said about a Love trade is under the expectation that he signs or will sign an extension with the team that he's traded to. Love signing an extension has always been part of the his trade talks. What I'm saying is the pieces Minnesota receives in return likely won't have the same requirement attached to them, and so there's no way Klay Thompson is re-signing with Minnesota once his contract is up, which is just further proof that Minnesota is getting robbed if they agree to that deal.

Not Wrong, in fact it's never been part of the trade talks because teams can't talk to players under contract from other teams.... quit making stuff up.

He's not required to sign an extension in fact Cleveland was going to put together trade for him (Love) and then try to convince him to re-sign.

And yes Thompson may not re-sign with Minnesota but Love may not re-sign with GSW, it's a wash. If Minnesota wants any compensation they will have to sell low. No one is going to pay an arm and a leg for what may be a rental.

From the beginning of the Love trade saga, "whether Love would be willing to sign an extension with the new team" has always been a part of it. That's why teams like Golden State and Chicago rose to the top, because those were the ones that word was he preferred in a deal, which indicated that they would have the greatest chance of re-signing with him, even right after the trade, which is why most people weren't just tossing out any names. So yeah, that's always been a part of my thinking, and Love will re-sign with Golden State if the "word" is true. Golden State doesn't need to talk to Love for his camp to make his feelings known.

I should have re-worded my last post.

The re-signing of Kevin Love is a huge part of the trade... but that's completely different from saying that he will re-sign because the only person that knows that is Love himself.

Being that Love (and possibly his agent) is the only person that knows his intentions, teams are hectic to risk the farm for what might just be a rental.

Except for Denver who is offering Faried, Chandler, and the 11th overall pick.

Not a big fan of facilitating trades. I dont believe in making other teams better.... Only way you do it is if you are without a doubt getting better and team you are helping is in opposite conference. Knowing its the Wolves and Warriors I'd entertain the idea but not a huge fan of it.

Yeah, good way of thinking.

Would have been awesome to have Hakeem Warrick this season.

And to not have the #9 pick in this draft.

Neither of those were a 3-team trade with us facilitating... but good try!

Traded Warrick for McBob straight up.

Traded Maggette for Ben Gordon and future 1st. (9 this yr)

See you next off-season!!!
