Avant's positivity and veteran leadership

OK, I know some may consider it a stretch for me to judge Avant's character by these three quotes, but suffice it to say that sometimes you can tell a lot from a little.  Avant is pretty much a lock to make the team this year.  The good vibes that are characteristic of this guy leaps from the page.  Put this together with good hands, and his 2014 status is secure.

 

“It’s good practice for him because a lot of times as a corner you forget to move your feet and you reach out and grab and you get a penalty so he’s trying to work on his grabs,” Avant said. “He’s a great worker.”

Of course there are the "obligatory" praise from other players, but when speaking about Avant, I don't think that there is any reason to sugarcoat anything. He appears to be one of the genuinely selfless, good guys, and that's just what the receiving corps and team needs at this moment.

I think the rest of the league are sleeping on guys like avant and cotchery and what they can teach these young guys like Benjamin, and boosting cams confidence even more...it seems as if they forget how much positive vibes can directly affect a team...that stuff is contagious and guys like underwood and the quote above about Cason the only thing that might be holding them back is the confidence in themselves and their abilities...I like the dynamics with this team a lot of good guys together who love the game with leaders like Luke and cam who have a taste for winning this team will be one of the all time greats of panther history...can't wait for august

Quietly the most impressive WR's have been Kealoha Pilares and Tavarres King.

We have a couple under the radar guys in Avant and Cotchery.  I think the good thing is that they are in a very good position.  A poor to mediocre performance simply gives the media legitimacy.  Anything above that and they outperform expectations.  Not a bad position for these guys.

Avant has always been known as a good teammate and a good guy. Theres a myriad of articles out there stating such, and drawing the conclusion that that is why we signed him, specifically, in free agency. (As opposed to any other random WR.)

In terms of sheer ability to make sure-handed catches, Jason Avant and Jerricho Cotchery are major upgrades over Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn.
