OT: Why does everyone mock Smart to Orl?

ive read a couple of articles claiming the magic are high on him, and have brought him back for a second look. cant see them not going for exum if they keep the fourth pick though... maybe suggests that their considering trading down? i also read that the bucks are high on exum as well, but if they were to take him at #2, orlando would be crazy to pass on one of the other top three

They were apparently going to draft him last year had he stayed in. If they believe Smarts best position is PG in the NBA I don't think Oladipo necessarily changes things, although it wouldn't be a great shooting backcourt.

They are very similar players. Seems redundant to me.

If they think Smart can play NBA PG, they likely think they can co-exist. Having multiple backcourt players who are tough, defend, and can rebound isn't exactly a bad thing. They wouldn't be an amazing shooting pair but Oladipo isn't MKG bad at it or anything, they could reasonably expect him to improve to at least a serviceable level.

Dipo plays the PG position right?

Both remind me of undersized SG's who play PG.

    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
    • He is a diva, even with Baltimore winning, he will cry and pout and ask to be traded. He cares about his numbers and stats for his next contract. Ironically, his best chance to showcase his ability was with us, now he is just an afterthought.
