I believe that he was raised in Eastern Carolina. Correct me if I'm wrong

 

Also was a heck of a basketball player.

 

Classy guy, gone too soon.

 

Was born, raised, played, lived and died in Southern California. San Diego State grad, coached there after retiring from MLB.

 

Was drafted by the San Diego Clippers in 1981 (Sterling bought the team in 1983, I'm pretty sure).
