You're obnoxious and come across as a know it all. Guess what you don't, guess what I don't. Guess what none of us know.

The hardy tag will have ramifications whether good or bad. That's the defining move in the 2014 offseason.

It's been said over and fuging over again that smitty was gonna cost us 24 mill over the final two years if we didn't cut him THIS year. It's been stated by him that he was going to retire after this coming year if he was still a panther. Why did he not inform the front office and work out a team friendly one year deal? Probably because smitty wanted his money but we couldn't afford him for the production we were getting. That is elite money, he's not elite anymore sorry. Why didn't he pull a Gross and do a one year void contract?

Why aren't you asking these types of questions instead of a blame gettleman deal? Like gettleman is some bully out to get overpaid final tires on the tread, injury prone veterans like Beason and smitty.

For me personally it all comes down to the hardy tag. And not because of smitty or gross or Beason or whoever else had somehow been bullied by DG. It comes at the price of money, the future cap and sustaining a level of competitiveness. The tag can go either way. That was the gamble of the offseason. Not smitty or gross or Beason because they can be replaceable via the draft or the money we would have had via FA

All I know is that no attempt was made to redo his deal.

One thing about me is that I support this team, but Im not a homer. fug popular opinion, I speak my mind.

you'd think 2013 would have served you up a plate of humble pie but you're back up to your old bullshit again.

also, fred phelps spoke his mind and didn't care about popular opinion either.  the next step towards becoming a grownup is understanding that there's nothing virtuous about "speaking your mind" in and of itself :)

I didn't see the question answered because of bitching and moaning back and forth so I will ask it again....when does that money come off the books?

When the contracts would have expired. Some by next year, some the year after that.

Kalil will be with us for at least this and next year before he can be cut.

Johnson, and DWill can be cut after this year for some serious relief.

Stew will be with us for at least two more years.

Olsen can be cut after this year.

Hardy is on a 1 year deal.

Speaking your mind is not always a virtue.  2 years old and mentally retarded people speak their minds as well. Hardly something the rest of us want to emulate much of the time.

How is it that Jordan Gross has almost 2 million dollars worth of dead money when he fracking retired. It isn't like we cut him. He chose to stop playing. How does it make sense that we still have to pay him when he decided to stop playing?

Cut, retire or trade doesn't matter.  All of the signing bonus guaranteed money accelerates and is due right away.

All of those guys - but Steve - will be off the books next year. Then the following year Smith will be off them as well. However, we'll add a few smaller amounts (like you see on Zod's list) for guys who were given a small signing bonus but end up not making the team. Those amounts are rather insignificant though, so our dead money next season should be about one fourth as big.

This is an Internet forum correct? This is by no means a professional setting where one should go with the natural flow in order to progress in life. Too many people on this forum are too afraid to speak out and instead try to convince themselves that everything that comes from Mint St is correct.

Let's stop confusing a damn message board with real life, if you're too afraid to buck the norm and speak your mind on a message board...
