Carolina has almost $19M in dead money on the books

According to this ESPN article, Carolina has about $6M in cap space and almost $19M in dead money, $8M of which is from Beason's contract... that $19M will go a long way toward re-signing the young stars once it's clear. Only the Cowboys and Bills are carrying more dead money.

We signed him as an undrafted free agent and cut him in camp. We probably gave him a 2 year deal with a $10k signing bonus to secure his services.

 

Last year we brought back Travelle Wharton and he was still on our books from his June 6th cut in 2012. So it happens from time to time.
