Places with overly friendly customer service

chickfila by a mile. i admire their business model (if not their founder's ideologies) having worked for them for a couple of years, but the whole "my pleasure" thing consistently comes across as smarmy and insincere. great in-store customer service culture, but the catch phrase has got to go.

Hoping we keep expanding in the Carolinas so I can promote myself out of Georgia.

Anyone else get blown up every time you go to a Home Depot? On top of vendors who bother you there's just too many greeters and whatnot. I swear they have a position for strictly finding customers with babies and doing the "cute" baby talk thing.

Beach

You know this is loss prevention? The reason Walmart had greeters for so many years? People are less likely to shop lift when greeted. And it's harder to steal something when there's always someone around the corner asking if you need anything

Toats Mcgoats and the peeps who use it as a chance to creep on every single family with little children is annoying.

If I was a pro at shoplifting I would have a constantly crying kid. Why? People don't want to be near a crying kid.

If I was a pro at shoplifting, I would step up my game and begin strategic non-violent robberies Ocean's Eleven style..and continue to shoplift.

Also, I don't think some nimrod who moves carts for a living is a good detector of crime haha

Youd be surprised. Normally the ones that catch you are wearing street clothes. Weve got a guy that puts some random poo in a cart and just walks around pretending to be a customer. Seen some poo get real before. Real funny that is.

I work for Home Depot and I can tell you that it is a damned if we do- damned if we don't type of relationship. Either folks are complaining that we are not helping them or complaining that we are bugging them too much.

So which one is it?

I work for Gander Mountain and we have to do what's called ECET which stands for every customer every time. Basically meaning we have to try to talk every single customer we see into applying for a gander mountain rewards credit card. Nobody wants that poo and I can't stand bothering customers about it. My job is on the line because of it. I told them to go ahead and fire me because I'm not going to be pushy
