Rod Higgins Stepped down.

This is probably the best move ever made in franchise history!!!! I'm serious.

Higgins was nothing but a friend of MJ. The man was one of the main reason we were so bad for years. I mean he basically forced his way to give his son a spot on the team.

MJ is making smart decisions now like a true owner, but the timing is a bit odd.

I think it's hilarious how some of you believe every move the Hornets make is related to fuging Doug McDermott. We haven't even drafted the dude yet and if we did you and your "scouting" is not nearly as good as the ones for a professional franchise who is actually meeting and watching the players up close. Who cares if we take McDermott. It's the 9th pick in the draft, it's unlikely that you'll find a star player so grabbing a great shooter off the bench would not be that bad.

With that being said, I don't care for Higgins much, but this could not happen at worse timing. We'll probably never know the truth to why he was fired, so it's best to just accept the news instead of speculating about it.

Rod Higgins was given a 3-year extension around the same time Rich Cho was hired (6/14/11). At the time it made no sense and looked like Higgins was kept as Jordan's yes man to overlook Cho. The team said he was staying to mentor and work with Cho, who was a first time GM.

His contract just ran out. Cho has 3 years under his belt and doesn't need someone to hold his hand anymore. He wasn't fired, he didn't quit, and there's no reason to believe he had a falling out with the team. He is simply no longer under contract. Who cares what time it was announced? Maybe they had the release wrote up days ago and told their PR department to release it on 6/13.

You fools love ASSuming crap.

So what's your role in the front office again?
