Hornets announce that Rod Higgins has stepped down as the team’s President of Basketball Operations. Rich Cho remains as GM.

This has a MJ written all over it. Possibly an internal dispute within the top dogs of the organization.

Unfortunately we'll probably never know the real reason this happened.

The timing is a bit odd. Hopefully it turns out to be a result from a power struggle within the organization that just boiled over.

So bizarre, has to be about the draft or the teams FA plans. Must not have agreed with Jordan and Cho on something. Now Cho gets a promotion.

It was announced that Cho will remain as general manager and assume the current role of president of basketball operations.

There was no mention if this was permanent or temporary role for Cho.

If I had to guess...

I would say Jordan decided he wanted to be more involved again after he saw how the fans reacted to the nam change.

Maybe he said that he was going to be making the final decision on who we draft instead of Cho/Higgins and Higgins had a problem with it.
