Jon Beason carted off field during non contact exercise.

The beason that played for the gaints would smash oncoming blockers, beat the RB to the hole, make plays in the passing lanes, and was over all faster than the panthers beason. I was sad to see the difference in effort form panthers to giants. Beason would have been the last player on the team that would give a half @ss effort, don't know why he did so. Behind the field must have been rough.

 

The Jon Beason who played for the Giants was a middle linebacker.

 

The Jon Beason who was playing for the Panthers was an outside linebacker (and sadly, not a very good one).

Beason noticed a pain in his right foot and began walking gingerly toward the trainers huddled on the sideline during an 11-on-11 drill. Stevie Brown, who is completing recovery on a torn ACL, saw Beason and immediately notified the medical staff that help was needed.

Beason was carted off to the training room and then shuttled to the Hospital for Special Surgery, where he underwent a battery of tests. As of last night, the team did not have the results.

"We’ll get this one out of the way quick, I really don’t know much about Beason," head coach Tom Coughlin said after practice. "It’s a foot. He was running across the field and felt something at the bottom of his foot. We’ll see."

Coughlin later clarified that he wasn’t sure if the injury was located on the bottom of Beason’s foot.

heel spurs are usually cumulative and dont just happen suddenly.  sounds to me like he either has a stress fracture or torn a ligament or tendon.  either way it doesnt bode well for the preseason anyway for him.
