Motivation for "sorriest receivers in the NFL"

top dawg

I think these were well thought out picks.  Two of the Three WR we brought in are sure handed vets.  The other is a burner like Ginn.  We drafted a WR that can catch anything in a three mile radius.  And we fill out the group with 5 or 6 hungry young men that have something to prove.

We are going to have just a good a WR corps as any team in the league.  Are they household names?  Not unless you live in Tallahassee Florida

I love that others think we don't have a WR corps.  Or that they are the worst.

You put a chip on the shoulder of the best young QB in the game.   Cam is going to come out along with the UNKNOWNS and make them KNOWN.

GO PANTHERS

Heh.  I agree that we are getting counted out, but I ALSO like this guy's idea for us....

Moore is the kind of player we need.  He'd bring an element we lack ... and it's an important one.

I have campaigned for Moore literally for months.

Perhaps it's just too early in the process, and the brass want to see what the young guys are going to bring to the table before they invest in another veteran, but glorified prospect all the same. They may think that we already have our own version of Moore (though I can't see it, because I just don't see anyone on the roster with that mix of speed and play making ability). Perhaps, Philly Brown. They're probably gonna have to see our guys with pads on before they make a move.  I just hope that they don't wait too late if things start to look a little shaky.

So, while guys like Corey "Philly" Brown and King are still developing, Denarius Moore would give Carolina a proven option with excellent deep speed and play-making ability. And, perhaps above all, he fits the Carolina model of buying low. Moore to Carolina for a 2014 5th rounder makes a whole lot of sense for both teams.

Again, we respect Carolina’s value-based approach and GM Dave Gettleman, but they have a team capable of winning right now. They are currently looking pennywise but a bit pound-foolish at receiver. Getting a guy like Moore would give them a much more balanced array of weaponry.  It’d be a no-brainer.

Make the call, Gettleman

Thanks for the link. I think that "penny wise and pound  foolish" may be the perfect analogy for the situation.

I agree completely!!!! I think Cam and the offense is going to shock NFL. With a two tight end set and healthy Stewart we will be able to run an effective ball control offense, and with KB and the vet WRs and other youngsters, I think we can take our share of shots downfield.

I'm tired of all the "chicken little" BS from the media and a lot of our own.

Yeah, this all comes from the fact that many media, don't actually watch the Panthers or care for them. Therefore, they're really not familiar with the personnel and/or developments on the team,  and why they were successful last year (or were basically 500 the previous two seasons).

Regarding some Huddler's: There seem to be many Negative Nannies here, who love to react than think or analyze a situation properly. They could at least wait till the games are played during the season. However, that wouldn't make this the fun, crazy, frustrating website it is, if all the posters agreed or made sense. Lol

Good point. "Variety is the spice of life". No matter how frustrating it can be.

What the hell is wrong with you dude?

I think our WR as a whole is better than last years but Smith would have made this roster better if he was still here. There will be moments where we will miss his play. Those times where he came up big. And even at his age he still made big time plays in big time games. I think we are very fortunate to have Cotchery and Avant to replace those 3rd and 4th down grabs that we will likely desperately need again this year.

I want Smith to have a big year. He deserves it.

Smith said on multiple occasions that he had no interest in mentoring young WR's. Add this to his known volatile personality and declining performance and it is clear that Gey made the right decision to move on from him.

He is no longer a Panther and I hope he completely flames out this season.
