And this is one of several key reasons Gettleman let SS (not bring up his name again) go!!

 

The precedent was already set in NY with the Giants, where Manning was much less respected his first few years on the Giants than Cam ever was. And look what he was able to do when the Giants front office jettisoned Barber, Shockey etc., who gave Eli a hard time and didn't respect him?

 

If Gettleman didn't believe in Cam, he would never had done that.

I like that breakdown but don't see it happening.  I dunno, maybe we throw a 5th-6th rounder for a proven speed guy.

 

The media thinks we're light at WR but really all we really need is a proven speed guy.  But I'm huge on Tavares so I'm cool with what we have going into camp.

I agree completely!!!! I think Cam and the offense is going to shock NFL. With a two tight end set and healthy Stewart we will be able to run an effective ball control offense, and with KB and the vet WRs and other youngsters, I think we can take our share of shots downfield.

I'm tired of all the "chicken little" BS from the media and a lot of our own.

Smith's "another level" came and went 3 years ago.  There will be no revenge, there will be no blood and guts.

 

The best thing that could happen to Steve this year is for him to blow out his knee in the first game of the season and fade into the mist.  He can then return to his proper place and STFU.

I think our WR as a whole is better than last years but Smith would have made this roster better if he was still here. There will be moments where we will miss his play. Those times where he came up big. And even at his age he still made big time plays in big time games. I think we are very fortunate to have Cotchery and Avant to replace those 3rd and 4th down grabs that we will likely desperately need again this year.

 

I want Smith to have a big year. He deserves it.
