We are loaded with talented and young players but they are very unproven, Morgan never played with the squad, well 4 minutes..

Giroud is already whining, he would be disapointed if he is not a starter.. Antoine Griezmann could be the starter next to Benzema..

And keep in mind, they may never find the way out of the bus. :lol:

Portugal looked dreadful against Mexico (who is also garbage this year) the other night.  Yes it was without Ronaldo, but they looked very vulnerable on the counter attack.  I say against Portugal our best chance is to bunker and just pray we can keep the ball out of the back of the net and try to score a goal or two on the counter.  Portugal really does not scare me that much.  They're definitely better, yeah but anything can happen in one game.  Germany is the class of this group.

Also, Germany is beatable. They're always a favorite cause the best football is being played in Western Europe. However, German is consistent enough (much like their culture) to get to the semis and nose dive out.

You make it sound like USA is the only country that have Lebron and Cam type of people. Maybe the case is that playing soccer requires something other than being big and fast. 

 

Name me one major sport in which USA dominates other than basket where the gap has narrowed quite a bit the last 10 years.?

Culture above most things decide which sport you priorities. In Germany for example 20% of the population play soccer. What that means is that in most contries the Lebrons and The Cams are not doing any sport or are not getting the best training etc because basket and american football is not a prioritized sport but soccer is or ping pong whatever.

 

Saying that because Lebron is the best in a sport your own culture prioritize, then they would be the best in any other sport if they wanted to is just stupid. Its like saying Ronaldo by being one of the best in world at soccer would be the best WR in NFL if he just wanted to. Stupid.

Sorry, you can't declare that only one sport produces athletes.. soccer and football require very different attributes to be successful. You remind me of my high school football coach who thought I was a "foot fairy" because I played soccer (kicked for the high school football team)..

So, what you are saying, is that if the top athletes grew up in a soccer culture, they still wouldnt be good at it why?  because they are stronger, bigger and faster with probably better footwork than what you can even imagine?  You silly guys and your soccer pride doubting the best athletes in the world.  I put my money on the best athletes, IF they cared about soccer.  You soccer geeks think so highly of your sport that you think only a certain fortunate number of individuals are skilled enough to play.  I can't believe it is so hard to imagine, but again the soccer crowd would hate to think that the sport could even be better.
