I remember the jags in 1996 because there was a big writeup in the paper about 2 expansion teams being in the conference championships so soon.

No the panthers were around for like 70 years before the jags were established

Yes they were. We set the record for most wins by an expansion team by going 7-9; Jacksonville had the second most wins ever by an expansion by going 6-10.

We beat them in the Hall of Fame game that year, and the Jaguars used that as motivation to trounce us in our first several regular season meetings. (that and Tom Coughlin saying Dom Capers ran unnecessary blitzes in the 1997 pro bowl) Our 2003 win against them (Jake's second half miracle game) was the first time we beat them in the regular season. The monsoon game in 2011 was the second.

 

Yes, as bad as the Jaguars are, we have never won there.
