Jordan Wants To Add Superstar

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't want Melo, unless he would play the 4 and only the 4. Actually, I wouldn't want Melo at all...... He's never won anything at all and he just makes decent teams worse with his ball hogging and bad decision making.

He hasn't exactly been on great teams... That Denver team was pretty solid but New York is a dumpster fire. There is a reason Marv Albert told Steve Kerr to stay away.

Not to mention, the Hornets franchise is not in any position to turn away a player that averages 27 points per game.

I think you need to start lowering your standards for players because you're going to be incredibly disappointed in the outcome.

I've also noticed that you really don't place much trust in Clifford to coach up players and get them to adapt to his system.

I know you're all about defense, but you have to be able to sacrifice some defense in order to put together a capable offensive team on the floor.

Adding Carmelo allows to us keep MKG as a starter, and it might even allow us to just roll with Henderson who is also very solid at defense.

It's probably the easiest fix... and not to mention allows us to keep our picks.

Without a superstar on the roster, positions two through four would need to be upgraded in order to form a team that could compete.

That's just my two cents.

Melo is Melo and has always played like Melo will play and it kills teams. Clifford is running a Defensive first / team defense focused style of play.... I've never seen Melo even think about playing defense much less actually play it.

As for standards I have for players, be fundamentally sound on Offense, Defense and in transition. Play tough defense, box out, get up the floor quickly and go after loose balls. On Offense that means being a team player and making the correct decision and making the extra pass to set another player up with a better shot.

If you don't care about doing the above, then stay away from the team.

Jefferson did fine, but he's still bad defensively. He's just not horrible anymore.

I trust Clifford just fine.

Melo's been given unnecessary freedom from coaches to do what he wants. In Denver he was fine. He still had his tendency to ball hog and be lackadaisical on defense but he never was criticized like he is now... that's on Woodson in my opinion who gave Melo way to much freedom.

As for those characteristics of yours, there isn't a player on our current roster that fits all of those needs and there is only a handful of players in the NBA that fit those needs (LBJ, Parker, Duncan) are the only three that come to my mind right now.

This isn't college ball, the NBA is for the love of money.... it's time lower the standards.

Melo without a doubt could help this team. Will he sign with Charlotte, probably not. Would he help this team, absolutely.

Melo is very good offensively, he's a very good transition player, a good rebounder, and he's that premier perimeter scorer that this team has NEVER had.

Yea, it's why I'm not a huge fan of the NBA and prefer college basketball. Favorite all time NBA teams were the 88-90 pistons teams and the Ducan-Parker-Ginobili Spur teams. Favorite all time player is Oscar Robertson. If a player does most of those and is a team player then I'll usually enjoy watching them play. I like watching the current Cats/Hornets because Clifford preaches fundamentals and makes the players actually use them when playing... So the team is really a extra pass - fundamentally sound team. Hence why Melo would be a bad player to add to the Mix.

I'm probably just biased, but I think he could be close to Lebron level good if he actually asserted himself, but to me Carmelo doesn't sometimes, especially on the defensive end.

No you're not. At one time, many believed Melo was a better player than Lebron. NYK fugged Melo up. I'm sure Melo would've had a chance to win a Championship if he was playing with both Bosh and Wade.

NYK is a piece of $hit!!!! Melo proved he has what it takes to win in Denver under a great coach.

Last I remembered, Lebron, Bosh, Allen, Garnett, Pierce, etc. didn't never won anything until teaming up with others.

Same for Kevin Love. Who never been in the Playoffs before.
