Prepare yourselves Hornets fans...

Adam Zagoria: Some NBA Draft intel I've heard...Utah loves Dante Exum at 5, Sacramento likes Nik Stauskas at 8 & Charlotte likes McBuckets at 9 Twitter @AdamZagoria

If Stauskas goes at 8, it means Randle, Gordon, etc will be there at 9. Why the hell would we take McD!!!!! I can't stand these McD craps anymore.

I don't want Gordon. He just doesn't fit what we do. For all of McD's alleged faults (most that I disagree with) at a bare minimum he stretches the floor for Kemba and Big Al.

I do not understand the level of hate (for lack of a better term) on McD. He might be the best shooter to come out in the last 5-10 years. He is #1 in shooting efficiency in all 3 categories. Catch and shoot, off of screens, and off the dribble according to DX. It is a guy that doesn't need to be a volume shooter to score a lot of points.

You don't score 27 ppg and shoot 55% while being game planned for every game by great coaches in the Big East or MVC by being what many of you guys refer to as a one trick pony.

The guy who shot 30% from three as a freshman and 31% from three as a sophomore was a "big time shooter"??

He had only one decent year from 3 point range and even that was just a meh 42%.

He was not a big time shooter.  Morrison was actually better driving to the hole which is why he shot almost 9.5 FTs per game his last year in college.

Him and McDermott do not have similar games.

Exactly.

Comparing McD to Morrison is just like the people comparing Cam to Vince Young.....only comparison is the color of their skin.

Their games are not even close to being similar.

I think Gordon fits us perfectly. If you talking about McD being able to stretch the floor, Gordon can def stretch the floor. He's smaller, but the kid has a NBA body already or at least strength wise. His defense would fit right inside with Jefferson.

I think if we are able to bring in a nice shooter like Rudy Gay, Gordon would be a great pick at 9 if he's there. I would rather throw $$$ at Gay than picking McD at 9. There are safer players than McD that we could choose from: Ennis, Harris, Staus, and even Payne if we want a PF.

If McD proves that he can rebound, defend, and play under the basket then I'll give him a chance. But, if he's just going to shoot the ball with range, I don't want. He'll have to play PF, not SF. He's not fast enough to defend NBA SF.

McD is the scariest player in this draft. A boom or bust pick. He'll either be Kevin Love or Morrison?/Korver.

Their games are a lot different, but many like myself are making that comparison due to being a high volume shooter in college like one another.

McD averaged @22 ppg his college career on @14 shots per game. That is not a high volume shooter. That is amazing efficiency.

Being an amazing shooter does not mean it's going to translate to the NBA tho. I'm scare he'll be another J.J, Morrison, and Jimmer.

Redick had a career FG% at Duke of 43%. He was not that efficient, plus he is 6'4. Freddette was a career 39% three point shooter and a 6'2 SG

Again they aren't good comparables

This.

In addition to what you said about Gaygay Redick, he had maybe 1/3 of the offensive moves as McBuckets and that is being generous.

You basing that stretching the floor comment on a low sample size of 3's? Bc I know you cant be basing that on his horrendous FT shooting.

220 pounds as a PF and he has a NBA body already?

Defense? His shot blocking numbers are poor for a post player.

Gordon at present would not be a good fit imo. If he had an advanced post game, proven jumper, and was an elite shotblocker than yes.

Right now he is very raw and will be a drafted on potential.
