Visiting the Boston/New England area in Sept.

Have a wedding in Rhode Island in September, and want to fly into Boston, and cruise around New England for a few days.

 

 

Help with some can't miss places to see, things to do, etc...

 

Only been up there once, and never left Boston, so I'm pretty excited.

Boston was by far the cleanest city I have ever been to. I would like to say follow the brick road to witness the history of the place.

we did faneuil hall and the freedom trail

 

we did the MIT museum.  there were some cool optics things but overall i found it disappointing.

 

 

do the sam adams brewery tour.  It's free and they give you beer.

Always worth catching a Red Sox game at Fenway... The atmosphere is like not like any other as far as baseball is concerned. Just being in that historic venue for 9 innings is worth the ticket price.

Newport, Rhode Island is beautiful... I recommend stopping by there for a day.

Golf on Cape Cod is always fantastic and taking a ferry across the way to Martha's Vineyard is a good time.

I doubt you'll have time but if you can make your way to Maine I'd do so in a heart beat. Explore Portland's Old Port and the beaches along the coast.

And pack some warm clothes. New England can be quite cold in September.

Glad you started this thread. Just found out I'll be going to boston this weekend. I've never been before and don't know what all to do. I'm going to go to the Red Sox game Saturday and thought I'd do the freedom trail but am interested to hear what else I should do

When I was in Boston in 2011 I sat in the middle of downtown and cried like a baby for about 2 hours because my friends wanted to go  shopping and I wanted to see all the historical sites. IDK what the hell was wrong with me god. Many ****** made fun of me
