Stauskas To Work Out For Hornets Wednesday

Recommended Posts

Having a "productive" swagger to your game, especially as a SG, can be huge. Think, Jamaal Crawford, and not JR Smith. I know Stauskas is more athletic than given credit for, but I do think he'll struggle initially and to get his shot off on a consistent basis. I see him being somewhere between a guy like Redick (tho Stauskas's measureables are better), who molded his game and became a legit role player and the obvious Klay Thompson comparison, that Stauskas himself is a fan of.

Here are some tweets...

@rick_bonnell: Stauskas is from Ontario, one of a handful of Canadians who will be drafted June 26. Andrew Wiggins also from Canada.

@rick_bonnell: Stauskas showing off quite a shooting stroke.

@rick_bonnell: Stauskas working out for only 4 teams: Hornets, Celtics, Lakers and Suns. This was his 1st workout.

@rick_bonnell: BTW, Nik Stauskas showed up for Hornets workout in teal sneakers. Guess he does his research.

@rick_bonnell: Stauskas: "(They) need a guy who can space the floor and knock down shots. I can definitely do that."

@rick_bonnell: Nik Stauskas has a lot of self-confidence. You need to believe in yourself to succeed at the NBA level, and he sure radiates confidence.

We already know that there is nothing objective about Bonnell, and he wants Stauskas. If he didn't, Stauskas could've made every shot and Bonnell would've been "qualifying" his comments with cheapshots.

We should trade down and get extra picks if we want him. If we want affalo which I wouldn't be against I would only want to trade the 24th pick for him. There will be too much talent to pass on with the 9th pick for a good vet. I think we should do everything possible to get Parker. If we decide to keep our picks then I say draft Vonleth, Randle or Gordon then with the 24th pick we should get PJ Harriston Rodney, Hood Craig McDermott (unlikely available) or Napier.

I wouldn't mind us trying to trade for Gordon Hayward or any other restricted FA considering it probably won't hurt us that bad since our draft picks will probably be in the mid to late 20s since we will be signing a big name FA and drafting a top player as well.
