Nothing against Voth, but it was an unnecessary cheap shot in what should have been a very intelligently written article.

Gantt's pieces aren't this good, all they really are, are cheap shots and negative nancy pieces. There is no correlation between the two at all other than they are both beat writers and cover the panthers, Quality of each writers pieces are one totally different levels. I can agree with that. But that happens with most players though, especially those around as long as he was. A lot of the things people are saying now would have rarely been mentioned while he was still on the roster. It is possible to mention his name without trashing him though.

I mentioned last offseason that his days were likely numbered as he declined bc of all his "baggage". Lots of greats have negative that is overlooked when they are BEASTING.

I was labeled a 89 hater bc I talked about everything he brought to the table. 89 is the greatest Panther to date, LOVED cheering him on.....but the dude has issues. He was never going to be an old guy who would mentor and bring stability in a lockerroom (like a Gross could of). Which is fine....and why he is gone.

Realistcally addressing why he isn't a Panther isn't "hating". But a large chunk of the fanbase will claim you hate 89 for it

Steve Smith is gone because he was in Cam's way, just like Gross. Its a very simple thing to understand, but some people just flat out hate aggressive dudes that call it when they see. Im so disappointed that so few that read this thread didnt understand where The Red was coming from. It makes perfect sense to me now that anyone who hates Smitty will automatically hate anyone he calls people out. . . even when its well deserved.
